Roose Community Primary School Information for Parents

Newsletter April/May 2013 Dear Parents/Carers I hope you all had a good Easter holiday. It is great to have the sun shining at school and to be able to use the field for the children to play on. Congratulations to Mrs Redhead! I am sure you will all join me in saying “congratulations” to Mrs Redhead who is expecting a baby, due to arrive towards the end of September. I am sure she will be a wonderful mother. As Mrs Redhead will go on maternity leave we have arranged for Mrs Carter to teach year 6 next year. The governors and I are in the process of confirming other staffing arrangements for next year and parents will be informed as soon as possible. Parent Consultations These have taken place this week. If you didn’t manage to make an appointment to see your child’s class teacher please make an appointment for a convenient date. Children learn best if school and home are working together. School Photographer – Wednesday 24th April Anthony Wright will be in school to take photographs of the children on Wednesday 24th April. If you have a younger sibling that you would like to have photographed with a school age child please bring them into school at 8.30am. Families will be photographed on a “first come, first served” basis. Sun lotion Please remember to put sun lotion on your children if the weather becomes hot and sunny. Children may bring a small bottle of lotion into school to reapply at lunchtimes. The bottles should be clearly labelled with the child’s name. Children must be able to apply the lotion themselves and will not be allowed to share it with others incase of allergies. Zoolab The above company will be coming into school on Wednesday 1st May. They are going to deliver a workshop called “Rainforest Adventure”. This will include drama and storytelling about “the world’s most exciting habitat with a tale of being stranded in the Rainforest”. The children will also be able to meet some astonishing animals. Please have a look at their website for more information: www.zoolabuk.com . So that all the children get a chance to handle the animals the Zoolab will be in school all day and the children will be split into five different groups. If any parents would like to come in for one of the sessions (they are fascinating) please just ask at the office. Telephone: 01229 894608
