Would you like to explore and experiment with a range of textiles, media and techniques? How can patterns, motifs, colour and textures be developed into fashion and textile designs? How do other artists and designers produce and get inspiration for their work?
Is Textile Art for you? • You must have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including at least a grade C in a GCSE Art and Design subject. Some students with GCSE Technology qualifications or those with proven skills in Art and Design may be considered after discussion with the Head of Department. You are a creative designer and problem solver who is willing to follow a given brief to produce your own work.
You already enjoy designing or working with textiles in your spare time. You enjoy developing a creative response to a brief and using your problem solving skills to do this. You want to combine practical and technological skills with an interest in fashion, interior design or textiles art. You enjoy opportunities to develop independence of mind, explore your own ideas, refine your skills and produce your own art work. You enjoy researching the work of other artists, designers and craftspeople.
