Children from across the school have enjoyed taking part in a number of exciting curriculum enrichment opportunities this week. On Wednesday, our Reception children enjoyed a visit to Windmill Farm. From feeding the young lambs, petting a variety of animals, getting to ride a train and hearing all about life on the farm (to name but a few of the activities), children had an action-packed day. All children demonstrated excellent behaviour and enthusiasm & were fantastic examples of what it means to be a pupil at Churchtown. Our Year 5 children have also enjoyed taking part in two days of workshops linked to their History topic of Ancient Greece. They have fully immersed themselves in each activity over the two days and each engaging workshop has helped to deepen their historical knowledge. Thank you for your support to ensure we are able to continue to provide these opportunities. In the newsletter, you will find an update regarding our fundraising efforts. As part of this, all children have received a letter to take home today outlining ways in which they can get involved and raise money should they wish to. From talking with children and their families, I am very aware that there have already been various fundraising activities that have taken place and this is absolutely incredible to hear. Thank you for continued support – it is very much appreciated.
Finally, information regarding booking an appointment for Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 2nd April via School Cloud is outlined in the newsletter below. If you require any support with this, please contact the school office. Have a lovely weekend, Mrs Payne.

Help us build a new playground in memory of Alice & Bebe.
This new playground, which has been proposed by Alice’s parents as a way of honouring her memory, will serve as a joyful, healing space for all our pupils. It will be a place where they can do what children do best – play, explore and grow.
Please donate what you can to help us create a playground that will carry their memories for years to come. We aim to raise £250,000, but we don’t want to stop there! Any additional funds will be distributed to local charities who are helping those affected by this tragedy.
In memory of Alice and Bebe, a number of staff members and friends of Churchtown Primary School are taking part in the London Marathon and the Blackpool Festival of Running in April 2025. Alice’s father, Sergio is also running the London Marathon, alongside our Headteacher, Mrs Payne. In addition, members of staff from across the Endeavour Learning Trust, which Churchtown Primary School is a part of, are also running in memory of Alice and Bebe.

There is also a sponsorship form for children to be sponsored to run laps of the school field with staff and Alice’s father, Sergio, as well as participate in a dance-a-thon on the school playground
We have been overwhelmed by the hundreds of entries that we have received in response to the ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ competition and would like to thank all children for their superb efforts. The Junior and Senior Leadership Team had a very difficult task to select the winners from such a strong field of entries. After careful consideration, the winning school entries are as follows:
KS1 – Anouk (Year 2)
LKS2 – Cian (Year 4)
UKS2 – Sarah (Year 6)
Winning entries will receive a book prize next week for their amazing entries and sent off for national judging.
