How exactly does a person’s diet affect their health? What skills are required by those working in the health and social care sectors? What issues do health and social care professionals face in their work? How do we meet a person’s specific care needs?

Is Health & Social Care for you? You must have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English. If you have studied for a BTEC Level 2 in Health and Social Care you must have achieved a Merit grade or above. You want the opportunity to undertake a one day per week work experience placement where you will be able to apply some of the knowledge gained in lessons, while also adding to your C.V. You wish to learn about the key areas of running a business and making business decisions.

You want to widen and deepen a variety of skills including research, ICT, evaluative skills, communication skills, problem solving, presentation skills, and learning to work independently as well as in groups. You wish to learn aspects of Human Biology, Sociology and Psychology and apply them to real, practical situations
