What a busy, wonderful term it has been! There is always so much going on in our fabulous school. Once again our school community has come together for so many events as we all share in the aim of giving our children the best experiences possible to develop all their skills and qualities and give them the roots to grow and wings to fly. Thank you to our children, parents, families, staff, governors and other members of the community for making the Libanus family the best it can be. I am so proud to be your Headteacher. Merry Christmas one and all.

Mrs Williams.

Recognising National Days

In Libanus it is important to recognise days that provide our children with a better understanding of the world around them.

This can help them to become positive contributors to society, through developing well rounded values. This term has seen us recognise Show Racism the Red Card day, European day of Languages, Anti-bullying week, Children in Need, Remembrance Day, Rights of the Child's day and Shwmae Su'mae. The children had fun, whilst raising awareness and developing new knowledge. Super!

Young Carers

A few years ago we began to identify our Young Carers and started to educated staff, children and families about the negative and positive impact this may have on our pupils. As a result, we have been able to provide internal and external support. Recently we were thrilled to see one of our Young Carers take up an offer with Caerphilly Young Carers to climb Snowdon He ventured out on this challenge independently, made some lovely friends and completed the hike to the top. We are very proud of your confidence and bravery! Da iawn!

If you feel your child maybe a Young Carer or would like more information about this topic, please contact the school office.

Our local MP and the Speaker of the House of Commons.

Year 5 and 6 pupils have been exploring leadership styles through their World War 2 topic. After a successful application to visit Parliament, Ruth Jones, our local MP, came to school to visit our pupils and also met with the children in her place of work, The Palace of Westminister. One of our pupils in Year 6 was then successful in entering a Christmas card competition run by Ruth Jones which also saw her rerun to school to congratulate William and present him with his card design. There was also a special message from the Speaker of the House of Commons! Wow!
