OUTSTANDING TEACHER PROGRAMME For Teachers in mainstream and specialist primary and secondary schools The OTP provides teachers rated as ‘good’ with a set of skills and strategies that enable them to become consistently and sustainably outstanding. It is open to teachers with the potential and drive to deliver consistently outstanding lessons. Programme Structure The programme runs over one half term. It is delivered through face-to-face taught sessions, classroom observations within the host school and in-school practice sessions at the participant’s school.
What are the aims? The core aims of the programme are to: develop a common language to discuss teaching and learning
deepen understanding of key aspects of outstanding teaching and learning
raise performance in the classroom, by encouraging creativity and developing more innovative practice
encourage the teacher to become a more reflective practitioner
develop coaching skills to develop the practice of others.

Delivered by experienced and fully qualified Facilitators, this exciting and rewarding programme provides participants with an engaging opportunity to reflect upon, improve and put into practice the skills they develop. Learning is supported through a positive and empowering environment. Furthermore to embed the knowledge and understanding gained in this programme, it is recommended that a coach supports their development in their own school. It would be beneficial if the coach could attend the first hour of session one and the final session.
