13th February 2025

Dear Parent Carers,

Weekly Update: 13/02/25

We hope this update finds you well. The past half term seems to have flown by, and the mornings and evenings are starting to get lighter and brighter. This afternoon, we hosted an informal celebration to mark the amazing achievement of St Martins maintaining its ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted for the fourth consecutive time. It was great to see so many of you, and we enjoyed catching up, and seeing families positively interacting over the refreshments. Thank you for your continued support!

Sabrina will be back at St Martins full time after the half term, after nearly 16 months of splitting her time supporting Portland School in Stoke. Sabrina is looking forward to having more time at St Martins, getting into classrooms to see the inspiring learning activities taking place, and spending time with the incredible students and staff team. We can’t wait to have her back!

Looking ahead into next half term and beyond, preparations are well underway for lots of exciting residential activities. Groups are planning to go to places such as Lea Green Activity Centre, Mount Cook Adventure Centre, Manchester, Chester, Hartington, Whitby and Chapel St Leonards. To help make these opportunities possible and open to all, the school supports the cost of residentials by subsidising the amount that Parent Carers are charged. We are sure that you will agree that residential experiences are beneficial for all of our students, and well worth the effort!

Launch of My Voice

As mentioned in last week’s update, we have launched a new reporting system for students to be able to log any concerns they have. A link to the reporting page is here on the ‘Report a Concern’ tab - https://www.stmartinsschoolderby.co.uk/ourschool/safeguarding We hope that this is a useful resource and welcome any feedback or comments you may have.

Arbor App and My Ed App

Thank you for letting us know some of your queries regarding the Arbor App. We have added some useful how-to guides to our websitehttps://www.stmartinsschoolderby.co.uk/parents/arbor-app Please continue to provide your feedback on the App as we seek to make this a helpful resource. We no longer update the My Ed app due to limited functionality, and expect our site on the app to go offline soon.
