What role do statistical models play in businesses such as personal and investment banking? Why are statisticians essential Government workers? Why are mathematicians with skills in statistics increasingly in demand?

Is Statistics for you? • You must have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including at least a Grade B in GCSE Maths. You must have studied the higher tier Maths GCSE syllabus at school. An initial induction assessment set by the Maths department will help decide your suitability for the course. You want to study a course which will provide useful support for a variety of other subjects, including many of the Physical and Social Sciences.

You enjoy studying Maths and are keen to be challenged further by the subject. You enjoy learning to understand and analyse data and apply these various techniques to practical situations.
