JOINT SEMINAR “Voyages in Maritime Affairs: A Testament to the Inter-disciplinary Approach of Dalhousie's Marine Affairs and Marine & Environmental Law Programs” Inter-disciplinarily and integrated approaches to problem-solving are among the core features of two of Dalhousie long-running educational programs, the Marine Affairs Program (MAP) now at the Faculty of Science and Marine & Environmental Law Program (MELP) of the Schulich School of Law. In this talk, the author narrates how at various points in his career thus far, he has been able to leverage the unique knowledge and skills gained from the MAP and MELP programs to address varied and complicated problems in marine affairs in the Philippines. He reflects on the special advantages and opportunities provided by his background and education at Dal in the past, how they continue to aid him in his personal career and public service at present, and what doors and pathways he would recommend to others for a bright future in marine affairs.
