SNAP AND SHOOTING STARS UPDATE June-July 2012
Safety Net Assertiveness Programme (SNAP) An Open Primary SNAP has been delivered at Somerhill. Another mixed group will be held on the 9th August 2012. You can find more information at www.safetynetkids.org.uk/news Tamsin has been working with Emma across three schools to deliver Personal Safety and Transition workshops to whole year six classes. We have had great feedback from these schools. Children were asked about their concerns in the community and asked to draw them and talk about them on camera. Emma then takes this information and presents it to the local LAT and relevant councillors where she feeds back any actions to the school. St Andrews, Hertford and Moulsecoomb have finished this process, and St Andrews are having us back again in the autumn term.
Shooting Stars Christian and Tamsin have finished working with the year fives and year sixes in Elm Grove School this month on a six-week programme with a well-attended graduation by parents and children. Carol Robinson from Sussex University has followed our progress with the children and will provide an evaluation and report of her findings at the end of the year.
