A version for soprano, flute, harp, violin (or viola) and cello was made in 2000, and first performed at the Kiasma Theater, Helsinki. Miranda’s Lament is part of The Tempest Songbook.

change very gradually from one phoneme or one way of singing, or from one sound or one way of playing (etc.) to another. senza vibrato
When vibrato markings are not specified, performers may use their usual vibrato. ‘Molto vibrato’ always means a rapid and quite narrow vibrato, unless otherwise specified. All glissandi should be started immediately, at the beginning of the note value. Voice x

speaking voice singing voice singing voice with as much air as possible rolled R, as in Italian Ritardando, giving special emphasis at the end of the word
Where possible, the general style should be nearer to ‘natural singing’ than the typically trained, Western singing with its steady, well supported voice. The words and phonemes should be pronounced as usual in English. Strings S.P. S.T. N.
