John Harle’s arrangement of his Silencium for Chamber Orchestra and Soprano Saxophone solo was first performed as part of the Canterbury Festival on 22nd October, 2011 by the Festival Chamber Orchestra conducted by Anthony Halstead, the saxophone solo played by the composer. INSTRUMENTATION Soprano Saxophone solo 2 Flutes Oboe Cor Anglais 2 Clarinets 2 Bassoons 2 Horns Harp Strings Duration – circa 5½ minutes
