Situated in the sought-after Rosemount area – with its tree-lined streets, quiet neighbouring suburbs and ideal location just south of Blairgowrie town centre – Hazelwood is a forward-thinking development that offers contemporary, stylish living in the splendour and greenery of historic Perth and Kinross.

With the River Ericht flowing between its two burghs, Blairgowrie and Rattray is one of the largest settlements in Perthshire – just a short drive from Perth, Dundee, Forfar and the Angus Glens; and roughly equidistant between the Cairngorms and the Firth of Tay. Northerly roads from Perth to Inverness (A9) and Aberdeen (A90) connect Blairgowrie to the Highlands, making it a perfect place to call home for those who love the wilds of Scotland’s north but want to stay connected to the central belt. Its close historic connection to the Scottish textile industry is evident in the town’s traditional architecture and regular market days, but Blairgowrie’s modern-day reputation as a hub for soft fruit growing is what makes it stand out – its annual harvest season offering up freshly grown Scottish strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries, blueberries and more. In a place that appreciates craft, history and the fruits of the land, Hazelwood is a place for 21st century lifestyles that complement this tradition and heritage.

A PE R F E C T PLACE TO CALL HO M E

A contemporary collection of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom houses, Hazelwood balances style and function to offer warmth and comfort throughout. Through close collaboration between our designers and architects, these homes and street layouts have been carefully considered to create a fresh new feel for this area of Blairgowrie, while providing pleasant and practical outdoor and indoor spaces for family life. The houses are designed to make you feel at home and at ease from the minute you walk through the door. With red brick facades, large anthracite windows and white render, their exterior finish effortlessly enriches the light and open feel of the development. With plenty of space, bountiful countryside all around and great links to Perth and beyond, it’s the perfect place for your family to call home.

14 bat boxes

42 swift boxes

These are artificial roosts designed to encourage bats into areas where there are few roosting sites. There are various designs of bat boxes, and different bat species need different spaces, but all of them will make a huge contribution to the natural biodiversity of Hazelwood and the surrounding area.

Located near the eaves of homes, these discreet roosts provide vital nesting opportunities for this confident species of migratory bird, who make their home in the UK for just a few months each year. They travel in groups annually from Central and Southern Africa, and often return to the same nesting location, every summer.

SCOTLAND’S GREAT OUTDOORS Blairgowrie is a perfect starting point on the Cateran Trail – one of Scotland’s great walking trails, offering a fully waymarked 64 mile route that leads north to Spittal of Glenshee before veering south and round towards Blairgowrie again via Dalnaglar Castle, Kirkton of Glenisla, Alyth and Bridge of Cally, among other places of interest. It is also the gateway to Glenshee, a renowned resort that plays host to yearround sporting pursuits – including skiing, golf, mountain biking, abseiling, hang gliding and paragliding. FOODIES WELCOME Countless jams, desserts, smoothies and cocktails have come from Blairgowrie berries, and market days in the town centre are a good place to pick up all manner of fresh produce from the region and beyond. Meanwhile, just 22 minutes drive away, the picturesque town of Dunkeld – home of the forest that inspired William Shakespeare’s Macbeth – is a haven for those who love food and drink, with local delicatessens, bakeries and a renowned whisky shop all open for business. A popular spot with tourists but a peaceful and rewarding place to spend time all year round. HISTORIC SITES & CULTURAL GEMS Perthshire’s cultural scene is a real hidden gem, and two great places to start are the impressive Perth Museum and Art Gallery and The Fergusson Gallery, home to the collection of influential Scottish artist J D Fergusson. History buffs will appreciate the iconic Black Watch Castle and Museum and Scone Palace, both a short drive from Hazelwood.

PERTH: ROYAL HISTORY, GORGEOUS ARCHITECTURE AND HIDDEN GEMS

DUNDEE: INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE AND FORWARD THINKING ON TAYSIDE.

The River Tay runs through the very heart of Scotland’s ‘Fair City’ — a place with deep historical roots and much to discover along its riverside streets and thoroughfares.

Now emerging as a city of innovation, design and culture, Dundee is an ever-evolving place characterised by bold works of architecture and engineering - both historical and contemporary.

Two major pedestrianised shopping precincts, interconnected by bustling city streets, are filled with familiar name brands and independent stores. On one such city centre street, surrounded by shops, bakeries, cafes and eateries, you’ll find Greyfriars Art Shop (trading here since 1840) and Concorde Music — one of the UK’s oldest independent record shops.

Built in the shadow of an extinct volcano, the city itself began as a small port in the 11th and 12th centuries. Now recognised by UNESCO as a City of Design, and home to Scotland’s first ever design museum - The V&A Dundee - it’s clear to see that modern day Dundee places art, innovation and culture at the forefront.

On the city’s much-loved (and Instagram-friendly) George Street, you’ll soon discover an array of colourful and quirky businesses, selling everything from quality vintage clothes, to freshly roasted coffee beans and more.

Foodies will find plenty to get their teeth into. Dundee boasts an ever-expanding range of restaurants, cafés, bistros, bars and eateries everything from fine dining to fast food. Three Dundee restaurants were featured in the AA’s The Restaurant Guide 2020 - Chez Mal Brasserie, The Tayberry and Daisy Tasker.

CYCLING With plenty of stunning roads to explore on two wheels, on flat terrain and at an incline, Perthshire is a haven for cyclists at all levels. Not far from Blairgowrie, Coupar Angus Cycling Hub is a project that exists to get more people cycling — hosting regular cycles and other events while also offering advice and guidance on acquiring a bike and taking care of it. A little south of Perth, the Kinross Cycling Club meet regularly at Loch Leven Community Campus for weekend ‘club runs’ ranging from serious pedalling to more sociable cycles.
