With our “Create Your Summer” format children may select specific enrichment programs to pursue their interests or discover new ones. Our age appropriate group offerings share many of the same aspects of our school – it’s hands-on, adventurous, energetic, creative, and offers a full spectrum of activities throughout the summer.
7 Hills Bake Off July 6–10 | 12:30–3:30pm middle & upper Instructor: Laura Clemens If you are a baker who loves food and creation, then this camp is for you. Each day will include a hands on baking experience which may include muffins, cookies, bread, cakes and pies. fee: $180
Adventure Club August 3–7 | 9am–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: John Rising Every day will be a unique and exciting experience with Adventure Club. Daily field trips are provided to a wide array of locations which may include; Kings Island, Coney Island, The Beach Waterpark and Zip City. Join your friends for days filled with fun summer activities! fee: $395
Adventures in the Queen City June 22–26 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Brooke Richart Join us in learning more about Cincinnati for a week of touring and exploring! We will visit some of our city’s most well-known landmarks and some hidden gems as well. We will cover a lot of ground this week with trips that focus on museums, culture, sports, history, parks and art, as well as some of Cincinnati’s delicious foods each day. There’s something for everyone in this week of getting to know more about the city where we live! fee: $180
Alex Meacham Basketball Camp ages 7-12: July 27–31 | 9am–12pm middle & upper: July 20–24 | 9am–12pm Instructor: Alex Meacham Former UC player and coach, Alex Meacham, will lead this camp with a focus on learning and improving fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. It is important to have each child gain a better understanding of the game as well as working on ball handling, footwork, defense, shooting and passing. fee: $180
Alternative Sports ages 7-12: July 13–17 | 12:30–3:30pm middle & upper: June 15–19 | 12:30–3:30pm Instructor: Shayla Myles-Aaron Are you interested in trying a variety of sports? This week is filled with an introduction to a variety of unique sport options including but not limited to fencing, archery, squash, Aikido, and Frisbee golf. Blast from the Past June 22–26 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Stephanie Pingley Traveling through the decades with music, dance,and activities will be sure to give campers a taste of the past. Some of the fun will include rollerskating, dancing to the Macarena, and creating tie dye. Let’s get groovy and discover all the past has to offer. fee: $180
Bowling Camp ages 8-12: June 29–July 2 | 9am–12pm middle & upper: June 29–July 2 | 12:30–3:30pm *no camp July 3 Instructor: Robin Wilson Have fun learning to bowl! Students will receive individual and group instruction on proper approach, arm swing, understanding lining up, and using targets. Students should plan to where comfortable pants or shorts, and comfortable short sleeve shirt, and socks for wearing bowling shoes. This camp is being taught by USBC certified and Seven Hills upper school bowling coach, Robin Wilson. fee: $145
Breakout Mysteries July 20–24 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Jason Jacobs Are you ready for an adventure? Just like in the movie, The Goonies, you’ll journey on an adventure or two every day! This is what you get when you mix escape rooms, education, special effects, puzzles, math, magic, acting and movie making. You’ll work as a team in this immersive way to discover such mysteries as the Titanic, Civil War, The Lost Colony, The Turning Test, Houdini and many other fun topics. You must break into their box before time runs out. Each box has many locks and clues that lead to the next and you will have to solve subtle clues, puzzles, and math problems to break into each box. Not only that, but you will star in a few movies high-lighting this unique experience. fee: $225
Camp GOTR July 6–10 | 8am–12pm ages 8-10 Instructor: GOTR Camp GOTR combines the best of Girls on the Run with all the fun of camp! During this week-long session, 3 rd –5 th grade girls will build friendships in a fun and inclusive setting that includes interactive games, being physically active, and expressing creativity through art & crafts and storytelling. Led by caring and qualified Girls on the Run coaches, Camp GOTR provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for all girls, including girls with a disability, to develop self-confidence, learn life skills they can use now and as they grow, and have fun with friends. Capturing Cincinnati: Photographing Our Home July 20–24 | 9am–12pm middle & upper Instructor: Nate Gleiner Explore Cincinnati’s breathtaking indoor and outdoor sights through a digital lens! Each day, we will visit and photograph sites that offer unique architecture and nature. Along the way, we will discuss how to capture the best image by learning about light balance, composition, framing, and other visual elements. The week will conclude with a session on photo editing, and each student will receive a professionally printed portfolio of their edited images. fee: $180
Chemical Exploration July 13–17 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Barbara James Come measure, pour, swirl and whirl into the world of chemistry as we explore reactions in making sidewalk chalk, volcanoes, crystals and much more. We’ll make water flow uphill, create density bottles and various kinds of slime. Each day is packed with hands on, energetic fun! fee: $180
Color Wars July 27–31 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 9-12 Instructors: Corey Wilson & Elliot Glum Color Wars is a camp in which participants are divided into teams, each of which is assigned a color. The teams compete against each other in challenges and events to earn points. This camp is about “fun competition” were children learn about teamwork and sportsmanship through games like dodgeball, board games, chess, and even capture the flag. fee: $180
Connecting to Nature July 20–24 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Rebecca Harnange Come to “Connect with Nature” for a week of discovery walks, yoga, storytelling, and creativity with inspiration from the outdoors. We’ll travel to nearby parks and let our imaginations run wild. fee: $180
Crossfit for Kids July 20–24 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 9-12 and middle Instructor: Lindsay Hetzel Do you want to learn how to become a more well-rounded athlete and get in great shape? Then CrossFit for Kids is the perfect fit for you! In this camp you will work on building a strong foundation so that you can improve your overall level of fitness. Our group will be heading to The Tracks Fitness Lab in Erlanger, KY to work on foundational movements. We will also learn about sports nutrition, mindset and goal setting, and have the chance to compete in a fun intra-camp competition. Join this camp if you want to get fit, have fun, and learn how to better take care of your body inside and out! fee: $180
Cultures, Customs and Celebrations Tour July 6–10 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Kristin Suer In this tour across our city, campers will be immersed in different cultures. Activities might include taking a tour about what the organization does, tasting new foods, learning a dance, singing in another language, or doing a craft. Locations may include the Donauschwaben German Cultural Center, Irish Heritage Center of Cincinnati, Cultural Centre of India, and Spanish Play Dates. fee: $180
Down on the Farm June 15–19 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Stephanie Pinguely “E-I-E-I-O”. Old McDonald may have had a farm with chickens, goats, and pigs, but how did he take care of them all? Join us to learn a thing or two about a working farm and discover where their food comes from. Don’t miss out on visiting some MOO-velous local farms. weekly fee: $180
Frisbee Games of All Kinds June 22–26 | 12:30–3:30pm middle & upper Instructor: Elliot Glum Prepare for a fun and active week as we explore the world of ultimate frisbee, frisbee golf, and other frisbee related games. Campers will learn throwing techniques, improve their catching, and learn to play the exciting sport of ultimate frisbee. fee: $180
Exotic Animals July 6–10 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Aimee Burton There are animals all over the world that are considered “exotic”. From creeping and crawling to majestic or endangered there are some animals we have never even heard of. Let’s discover a new animal that is special in its own way and learn about them! This class will feature an end of the week zoo trip and special activities where we research characteristics of our unique animal friends. fee: $180
Fossils, Frogs and Forts, Oh My! June 22–26 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Kristin Suer This week is all about adventure! Students will explore creeks- hunting for herps and fossils and going on scavenger hunts throughout many local parks. Having a science teacher on hand will come in handy when identifying special species and learning about how life evolved. They will test their survival skills by building true-size shelters and experience what to do if stranded on an island in a plane crash simulation. What they decide is important might cost them their advantage in the game! fee: $180
Gaga Pit Construction & Play July 13–17 | 9am–12pm middle & upper Instructor: Kristin Suer Do you want to build a game that will provide endless amounts of fun for the Seven Hills Middle Schoolers? In this exclusive camp, only 5-7 campers will be accepted to work in the woodshop to build a Gaga Pit on campus. Gaga is a fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. Similar to dodgeball, the game combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees. fee: $180
Games Galore July 13–17 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Shayla Myles-Aaron If you like games, this camp is for you! Campers will spend the week participating in various games including corn hole, ladder golf, “mat” ball, kickball, badminton, cards, board games and more! Come to learn the games or sharpen your skills; either way you are sure to have fun! fee: $180
Get Sparked with Art July 13–17 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Priscilla Oehlschlaeger Explore the basic wonders of creating art! Paint, work with molding clay, learn about colors and blending, and upcycle art. In this class we will explore basic sewing techniques and even explore projects like puppet making and costume designing! fee: $180
Gardening, Growth, and Greens July 20–24 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Kate Labare Learn what it takes to start a garden, from seed starting to the harvest! We will start seeds for home growing, learn how to transplant young plants, visit and work in local gardens, and learn about harvesting. We will even explore our own 7 Hills campus to learn how to keep our earth beautiful and vibrant! fee: $180
Golf June 29–July 2 | 9am–3:30pm *no camp July 3 ages 9-12, middle & upper Instructor: John Rising Golf is a “lifetime” sport and this week will get you started in the game or hone your existing skills. Players of all levels will receive a daily lesson from a PGA pro and will work on swing components, putting, and course etiquette. After the lessons, players will be grouped by level and play a daily round of golf with a coach. Courses may include Reeves, Little Miami, Meadow Links, and World of Golf. Participants must bring their own clubs and golf balls. fee: $300
Hands Across Cincinnati July 13–17 | 12:30–3:30pm middle & upper Instructor: Kristin Suer It feels good to help others! In this Community Service Tour, campers will travel to different non-profit organizations across the city. They will spend time in retirement homes, play games with children, give some TLC to horses, and much more! fee: $180
How to Tell Your Story: Writing Personal Narratives June 15–19 | 12:30–3:30pm middle & upper Instructor: Nate Gleiner Memoirs and personal narratives are incredibly popular, and people read them not only for entertainment, but also for the life lessons they provide. In this course, we will learn how to write about our personal experiences in ways that both captivate and educate. Through reading, journaling, drafting, and revising, students will discover methods for developing their unique voices and connecting their own lives to the larger world around them. fee: $180
I.S. Designs June 15–19 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Priscilla Oehlschlaeger Do you want to re-create clothing that you have by adding a special trim, ribbons, buttons, hem, ruffle, emblem, sparkle or splash of color? In this class you will explore where you’re creative genius can take you. Learn sewing skills and learn the art of illustration and body measurements. Children will put on a fashion show at the end of the week. A field trip may be included to select materials for design. fee: $180
Improv Games July 13–17 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Russell White Enter a space where creativity and the joy of acting are celebrated. Imagine working with your peers in an acting workshop each day through improvisational games, scene and character creation, and utilizing all feelings and senses. Jumanji July 13–17 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Rebecca Harnange Join us for Jumanji Jungle Week! We will dive into the Caldecott award winning book by Chris Van Allsburg, and make the characters come to life through board games, obstacle courses, jungle themed artwork, and a new Seven Hills sequel! fee: $180
Imaginations Take Flight July 27–31 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 9-13 Instructor: Laura Clemens Do you have stories in your mind? Join us to explore a wide range of possible ways to tell new tales. Using games, drawings, short telling, photos as inspiration, students will create a new work each day. We will experiment with poetry, comics, scripts, personal narratives, and short stories. fee: $180
Intro to Anime June 29–July 2 | 9am–12pm *no camp July 3 ages 7-12 Instructor: Alexa Eynon Learn about Japan through watching, discussing, and analyzing family-friendly anime moves from the beloved Studio Ghibli! Films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, and Spirited Away will be the focus. Students will come away with enrichment in regards to cultural education as well as art direction, storytelling, and use of themes and motifs music in film. fee: $145
Investigating Light June 22–26 | 9am–12pm middle & upper Instructor: Ken Revell This class focuses on the rich and complex subject of optics. We’ll work on developing an understanding of the basics of color, shadows, reflection, refraction, and scattering. Campers will do hands-on activities that build critical thinking and confidence. fee: $180
Jump Start School July 27–31 | 9am–12pm ages 7-10 Instructors: Della Kemper, Colette Reenan, Cicely Knecht and Aimee Burton Get ready for the new school year! Brush up on reading, writing, and math activities each morning. We will help you to get back into the groove of school with small group activities as well as one-on-one instruction. JUMP! June 22–26 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructors: Tyler McIlwraith If you are a ninja warrior enthusiast, this is the next camp for you! Tackle challenging activities as this camp explores different gyms, outside venues, and parkour courses! The focus is to get kids moving, jumping, and active. Language and Cultural Discovery June 15–19 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Jacky Kalubi This class exposes students to countries, cultures and languages around the world. Each day will start with a greeting followed by various clues for students to guess which country the will be “visiting” that day. Activities will include traditional music, dance, crafts and trying a variety of foods. Students will gain global awareness along with a greater appreciation for cultural diversity. fee: $180
Leadership Summit June 22–26 | 9am–12pm middle & upper Instructor: Laura Clemens Bring out your inner leader by participating in this week’s leadership summit. Games and activities will teach the characteristics of positive participation and leadership. We will also take several field trips that will challenge students to work together, take positive risks, and guide others. At the end of the week, students will apply their new skills in leading games for younger campers. fee: $180
Let’s Get Crafty June 15–19 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Christina Del Vecchio Classic crafts are one of the most fun summer activities! Each day students will create crafts that challenge their creativity and imagination. Explore with paint, glue, colors, glitter, beads and more and take home a fun unique craft to show your friends! Magical Madhatters June 29–July 2 | 12:30–3:30pm *no camp July 3 ages 7-12 Instructor: Kristin Suer Campers will enter a world of imagination as they tour various theater companies including Madcap Puppets. They will also meet some of Cincinnati’s local puppeteers. Children will learn about behind the scenes, participate in puppet-making workshops, and watch performances during this short week. Magic July 27–31 | 12:30–3:30pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Jason Jacobs Your child will dazzle and amaze you for many days during this super fun, rare experience to learn how to perform close-up magic shows. Each day your child will receive a bag or kit full of magic tricks. Your child will not only learn the secret of the tricks, but also showmanship, patter, performance tips and how to entertain audiences. Cincinnati’s top birthday party magician, teacher and award-winning close-up magician will teach your child multiple amazing magic tricks using cards, coins, rope, fun gimmicks, and even some slight of hand. fee: $225
Making It: Hands-on DIY July 27–31 | 9am–12pm middle & upper Instructor: Nate Gleiner Embrace DIY culture and make stuff! Each day, we will work with a different medium to explore how artisans use various materials to produce functional and beautiful items. From wood to fiber to glass, students will work with local makers to complete a new project each day. Stretch those creative muscles, and learn how to make it! fee: $180
Minecraft June 22–26 | 9am–12pm ages 7-12 Instructor: Corey Wilson Battle your friends in an all-out player vs player hunger games competition. Students will create a survival world and will also build a masterpiece to showcase in a building competition. fee: $180
Movie Makers July 13–17 | 9am–12pm middle & upper Instructor: Laura Clemens Students will work in teams to create a short film. Steps will include concept proposals, script writing, casting, location scouting, scene rehearsals, prop creation, filming, and editing.
