Creative Dance for Children for ages 7-9 and 9-11 year olds 17 Aug to 7 Dec (no class 5 & 12 Oct)

Children have fun whilst gaining confidence through learning new moves with positive and encouraging teaching by our tutors. WHEN: Ages 7-9: Saturdays 1.15 - 2.30pm Ages 9-11: Saturdays 11.30 -12.45pm PRICE: £63/£50 concession for 15 sessions or £94.50 for 2 in same family.

Do Your Thing!

Fun, accessible class for all 17 Aug to 7 Dec (No class 5 & 12 Oct) This class explores how to get the most out of dance, individually and in groups. No previous experience is necessary, just bring your enthusiasm. The class welcomes people with and without disabilities; please call Dawn on 01382 342 600 to discuss access needs. WHEN: Saturdays 10 -11am PRICE: £4.20 per person. Pay on the day.

Youth Dance Company

for ages 12+ 28 Aug to 18 Dec (no class on 9,16 & 30 Oct) Contemporary Dance techniques are studied to develop strength, flexibility and performance skills. This friendly and focused Company is regularly invited to perform across Scotland. New dancers are welcomed, with or without previous experience. WHEN: Wednesdays 6.30 - 8pm PRICE: £66.50/£53 concession for 14 sessions (£100 for 2 dancers in the same family).

About our classes Our contemporary dance classes are designed to develop the skills, strength, co-ordination, flexibility, agility and confidence based on techniques developed by early 20th Century dance pioneers such as Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham and Jose Limon.

Adult Contemporary Dance for ages 14+ 24 Sept to 17 Dec (no class 29 Oct)

Technical exercises and sequences are taught to build strength, co-ordination and flexibility. Ideal for people with previous dance experience. WHEN: Tuesdays 6.30 - 8pm PRICE: £57/£45.60 concession for 12 sessions or Pay on the Day £6.50/£5 concession.

Masterclasses for ages 14+ Various dates

Guest teachers and dancers from Scottish Dance Theatre lead Masterclasses throughout the year. Keep up to date via Twitter and Facebook or visit our website to find out more. WHEN: Various dates available on our website PRICE: £8/£5 students/£2 SSCD students.

Dancing for Tots

for ages 5 and under with their grown ups Coming soon

Coming Soon

An hour long movement and dance session for children under the age of 5 and their grown ups. Using music and movement, budding dancers will develop rhythm, co-ordination and confidence. Attending our classes All our classes are held at Dundee Rep Theatre, Tay Square, Dundee, DD1 1PB.

Please arrive at Dundee Rep Theatre 10-15 minutes before your class is due to start. You will be met by one of our fully trained support workers in the foyer. The support worker attached to your session will take the register, take payments if you pay weekly, escort groups to and from our dance studio and help you with any questions you may have. Please wear comfortable clothes that will allow you to move freely. Shoes aren’t allowed to be worn in the dance studio so you can either wear soft dance shoes or dance in bare feet. There are both male and female changing rooms next to the dance studio should you need them.

Concessions Concessionary prices are listed in brackets

and are available to students and those in receipt of benefits.

Latecomers Latecomers may not be admitted as

Protection of children & vulnerable people Scottish Dance Theatre runs a strict child protection policy. All teachers and support workers have had the appropriate checks.

Photography We sometimes take photos of our classes and workshops for marketing purposes. Permission will be sought by Scottish Dance Theatre beforehand.

Spectators We do not usually allow spectators as it can put those dancing off.

Access & Inclusion At Scottish Dance Theatre we believe dance

is for everyone and want to bring as many people, from all walks of life, into contact with dance. Dundee Rep is fully accessible to wheelchair users, and our dance studio is open to everyone.
