Contemporary Dance for Secondary Pupils Thursday 30 September, 4.15pm Contemporary Dance exercises to offer progression to pupils currently enjoying different dance activities. For Primary Pupils

SDT Interactive Thursday 18 November, 1.30pm

SDT Interactive, an engaging matinee performance, includes excerpts from the company’s current work to demonstrate how dance interacts with music, lighting and design. SDT Interactive encourages pupils to analyse the elements that come together to make dance theatre and to have the confidence to discuss their own interpretations of dance. A free in school dance workshop at a time and date to suit you, is included. Dundee Rep

Dance Detectives

For Secondary Pupils

SDT Interactive, Thursday 18 November. 1.30pm In School Dance Workshops available between 25 October and 17 November

Dance Detectives is a new cross curriculum project linking dance and literacy. Pupils take part in a dance workshop in school, attend SDT Interactive then write a dance review in their English class. In school dance workshops (max of 25 pupils) are led by SDT Creative Learning ideally co-ordinated by P.E Staff. English Teachers receive a Dance Detective pack to help guide pupils to write their reviews. The most promising young reviewers will be selected, published on SDT’s website and given SDT performance tickets. Associate Schools

For Secondary Pupils

SDT invites secondary schools who offer, or are planning to offer, Higher Dance to apply for SDT Associate School status. This pilot initiative, currently in place with St Pauls’ RC High School and Braeview Academy in Dundee, offers Secondary Schools who run Higher Dance, free in school dance workshops. We ask that schools attend SDT Interactive and make a commitment to continuing dance in their curriculum. To apply, please contact us!
