Introduction Alexandra Knubley’s third solo show will take place in our Garden Gallery. This new body of work explores the west coast of Scotland and its ever changing weather systems, delves deep into mysterious forests and takes us to sun-baked cityscapes and dilapidated palazzi. This exhibition charts a progression in Knubley’s stylistic technique. Whilst still underpinned by the structural quality resulting from her distinctive use of oil and wax with a wide range of palette knives and scrapers, she has developed a marked painterly touch to evoke something intangible. Knubley has won awards from the Royal Scottish Academy and is represented in a growing number of significant collections.
