PETER BORKOVICS b.1971
Peter Borkovics graduated from the Hungarian Academy of Craft and Design in 1994 before completing a Masters Degree in 1995. He is currently Doctor of the Uberal Arts School at the Hungarian University of Craft and Design. “Glass –it’ a notion… It was born into our real world from the unattainable infinity of our imagination. Objectivized. Fragile message between the crystalclear depth of our mind and the trangible, mortal world. It is the light that gives a soul to the glass, and it is the light that takes it back among the dreams of our closed eyelids’ shadow. Metal testifies the preference of creative man, it is only struktural, secondary element with glass. Glass hides something spiritual in its material, our task is just to pull the cork out of the bottle.” Peter Borkovics, 2015 Selected Awards: International Exhibition of Glass Kanazawa, Honorable Mention award, Japan, 2013 42nd Annual International Glass Invitational Award Winners” Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Michigan, USA, 2014 Public Collections include: National Glass Collection Bárdudvarnok, ( Mária Goszthony Fundation) –” Zebrashell “ Museum of Applied Art, Budapest –” Gate “ Museum of Applied Art, Budapest –” Bumble Bee standing lamp “ Rippl-Rónai Museum, Kaposvár, –” Green Screen Diatréta “ Városi Museum, Veszprém, –”Yellow Diatréta “
