Project Trust is a Registered Charity which sends around 280 young volunteers abroad to 23 countries annually. It is widely respected as one of the most experienced and professional Gap Year organisations in Britain. Project Trust is special in that it sends volunteers abroad for 8 – 12 months, as they feel that this is the only way to learn about and appreciate the local culture and so to be able to make a difference.
Iris is the latest ‘Peploe’; her work was awarded A* at A Level in August and her graduation show at The Edinburgh Academy brought wide acclaim. The exhibition features garden subjects including a group of lively studies in acrylic made in Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Gardens. The works are to be sold in order to raise funds for the charity Project Trust, with whom Iris has been selected to volunteer in Senegal for eight months, departing in January 2014. All sales proceeds will go in full to the charity.
