Get Ready for 2023 Awards!

What a wonderful Awards Gala we had in November! I enjoyed seeing your smiling faces in the December News & Events magazine. A special shout-out to all the communities that were nominated and those who won! As a property manager, I know we spend plenty of time making sure each area of the community looks great anyway, but there is extra stress when the judges arrive on site. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Curious about how the categories are judged? Would you like to know what to prepare for this year? Read along and find out!

It’s a new year, and as we make our New Year’s resolutions with our lists of goals to achieve, consider attaining a Diamond Award as one of those! Each year, individuals in various categories are nominated and recognized for their dedication to the Greater Nashville Apartment Association. Congratulations to those individuals and companies that were recognized at the Gala – your hard work paid off! Have you ever wondered what you might need to do to attain this goal? Well, you’re reading the right article!

Let’s start with the Beautification Awards! You can follow along on the website, https://www.gnaa.org/beautificationawards

You will enter your submission for the category in which you would like your community to be judged. Once all applications have been placed, a panel of judges selects the top three communities from a variety of categories and awards them 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Categories for Beautification Awards are:

• Overall Beautification – The communities are placed into a subcategory, based on the age of the property, which allows for more winnings in this category. • Best Renovation • Best Flowers • Best Clubhouse • Best Maintenance Shop • Best Model • Best Pool • Best of the Best

The Diamond Awards were created to honor and reward those exceptional performers in the GNAA membership. The awards will be given to individuals and companies that have exhibited outstanding qualities throughout the year. These awards are given to individuals and companies who enthusiastically participate in the association’s endeavors throughout the year. The timeframe that qualifies each nominee for this award, is July 1-June 30. This means you’re not too late to get started! All you have to do is – participate! Diamond Award categories are as follows:

• Multifamily Executive of the Year • Management Professional of the Year • Assistant Management Professional of the Year • Leasing Professional of the Year • Maintenance Professional of the Year • Supplier Professional of the Year • Service Technician Professional of the Year • Management Volunteer of the Year • Maintenance Volunteer of the Year • Supplier Volunteer of the Year • Management Company of the Year • Supplier Company of the Year

What to do once you are nominated? First, you will attend a luncheon to recognize how awesome you are! Then, you will have some forms to fill out, to verify attendance at key events, and you will write an article about your participation and growth over the past year within the GNAA. As your Awards Committee Co-chair in 2022 and 2023, I cannot wait to see the applications this year!
