The website always hosts the current set of rules. Just click the blue and white house on the Scottsdale Ranch website main page www.scottsdaleranch.org that says, “plan my project” for all things architectural.
Umbrellas
Front yard umbrellas - Require approval before installation. • Material - Material: Recommended canopy materials include polyester, acrylic, and olefin. Thatch and plastic are not permitted. Recommended post and frame materials include metal, wood, and fiberglass. • Color and design of canopy - Only solid colors are allowed. The umbrella shall be complimentary to the other colors used on the subject property or in the neighborhood. • Size - Diameter shall be appropriate for the space; not overhang any surrounding structures; and in no case be larger than ten (10) feet. Height at peak shall not exceed 8’-6”.
Storage Sheds
• Location - Storage Sheds are allowed only in rear and side yards behind the fence returns. • Pre-manufactured sheds – That are seven (7) feet in height, as measured from grade to the top of the ridge, and the nearest aspect of the shed must be a minimum of five (5) feet away from the property line. Any shed over seven (7) feet in height must mimic the look of the home, and therefore match the stucco finish, color, architectural details, and roof or roof tile of the residence. Sheds shall not exceed ten (10) feet in height.
Mailboxes
• Mailboxes may be supported by wooden posts or by block and stucco structures. Block and stucco structures must be painted to match the residence.
Wooden posts may be painted to match the residence or may be stained in natural wood colors. • Mailbox structures serving two residences must be painted in one color, even if the residences have different colors.
Play Structures
• The main updated are as follows. • Playhouses are those portions of these structures with vertical walls or a roof or other covering. • Play structures are generally open structures such as swing sets, monkey bars, non-enclosed slides, etc. • The Architectural Committee reserves the right to exclude measurements of any portions of the structure that would not violate privacy to neighboring properties. • Awning color and material is explained much more clearly. • No portion of an enclosed slide may exceed seven feet in height. • For playhouses exceeding seven feet in height, any portion higher than the lowest portion of surrounding walls must either be wood or be a solid fabric (such as Sunbrella) in a color compatible with and in harmony with surrounding structures. Other materials may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be approved if the color and texture are, in the opinion of the committee, compatible and in harmony with surrounding structures. • Playhouses may not exceed 200 square feet of ground coverage.

Please separate your brush and bulk pickup into two piles: one for green waste and one for everything else.
