CSU Campus Recreation Center Campus Recreation Services is housed in the 110,000 square foot 3-story Recreation Center that adjoins the Physical Education Building, allowing shared use of the Busbey Natatorium. Equipment Issue
No need to bring your own basketball, soccer ball, or volleyball to the rec! All are available for checkout to our members at the Equipment Issue desk. Also available are XBOX 360 and Wii video game systems, ping pong paddles, and shower towels. Shower towels are checked out at no cost if you have rented a locker through the Recreation Center.

Did you forget your socks, shirt, or shorts for your workout? What about shower supplies or deodorant? Do you need racquets for squash, badminton, or racquetball? We have it here at the Pro Shop, located inside the Equipment Issue area. Stop in and pick up whatever you may need such as Powerbars, combination locks, swim goggles, swim caps, boxing gloves, hand wraps, athletic tape, squash and racquetballs, toothpaste, and even toothbrushes! Students registered for 1 credit hour or more are typically assessed the Student Service Fee which supports Campus Recreation Services. These students are automatically Recreation Center members and may enter the Recreation Center with their Viking Card.
Employees with a 100% recurring appointment as full-time Cleveland State University employees as well as those with Emeritus or Associate retiree status.
Off-Semester Student
Part–Time Faculty/Staff/Business Partner
Students that were enrolled in the past semester, but not for the current semester are eligible for the off-semester rate for one semester. Students who are not assessed the Student Service Fee are eligible for the off-semester rate. Continuing education, nondegree and guest students are not eligible for the off-semester rate.
Spouse/Partner/Dependent
Spouse, partner or dependent of faculty/staff may purchase a membership at a matching rate. Partner is defined as individuals who are of the same gender, who share a regular and permanent residence, have a committed personal relationship, can demonstrate financial interdependence, and who are not legally married or in another domestic partnership. Same gender domestic partners of faculty, administrators and staff must complete an “Affidavit of Domestic Partnership” from the University.
Part-time employees with at least a 50% appointment with Cleveland State University are eligible for this membership during the semester the appointment is active. Part-time faculty/staff are NOT eligible for payroll deduction. A business partner is an employee of a company affiliated with Cleveland State University through a management agreement to provide campus services. Any University retirees who are not classified as Emeritus or Associate of the University are also eligible for this membership.

Guest Passes
Guest passes are available for one time visits to the Recreation Center. Members may sponsor up to three guests per visit. Guest passes are $9 per visit. All guests must have a photo ID to access the facility.
5 Punch Pass
Patrons are able to purchase a 5 Punch Pass to receive five seperate entries into the CSU Campus Recreation Center. Passes are available to affiliates for $25 and non-affiliates for $35.
Locker Rental/ Towel Services
Lockers are on a first come, first serve basis. All locker rentals come with towel service. If you do not wish to purchase a locker, day lockers are available. Patrons may purchase a towel card for unlimited towel usage or pay $2 for daily use of a towel.
Parking
Parking passes are available for all non-affiliate memberships. Members may park in the REC Lot, East Garage or S1 lot with a valid Recreation Center parking pass. All other members must purchase a parking pass through Cleveland State University. www.csuohio.edu/parking
Family Weekends
You can bring your spouse and up to three of your children, ages 6 months through age 17, for FREE all day every Saturday and Sunday. Shoot hoops, play racquetball, kick the soccer ball around, or cool off with some laps in the pool. For more information call 216.802.3200. 18

Learn to recognize and respond to emergency situations. American Red Cross Aquatic Safety Classes Lifeguard Training
This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Program in Water Rescues, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Skills. The course will include classroom and water activities to prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to prevent drowning and injureis. Participants must be atleast 15 years of age on the last scheduled day of class. Lifeguard Training is taught by certified instructors following the American Red Cross curriculum. This one-session class gives anyone age 10 and above the opportunity to try SCUBA ddiving and actually see what it is like to breathe under water. Our comprehensive program is designed to take swimmers from the beginning stages of balance and floating in the water to the acquisition of advanced skills. Safety skills are included in all classes. We don’t just teach you how to swim. We teach you how to swim properly! The CSU Swim School provides swimming instruction in a group environment with a low student to instructor ratio. Our goal is to promote water safety while teaching proper stroke technique for all ages. Our experienced swim instructors follow specific lesson plans designed to focus on the fundamentals; then they break down complicated skills into simple movements. Summer Camp
NEW Format, Theme, and Adventures. Are you looking for a conveniently located, diverse summer camp with a fabulous staff, and tons of activities to keep your little ones active this summer? If so, Cleveland State University’s Summer Camp Program is your camp. We offer 10 consecutive weeks of summer camp; each week has its own exciting and interesting theme. Your child will have the opportunity to explore a variety of sports, creative crafts, different cultures, and more. With the help of our amazing staff your child will get to experience everything the Recreation Center and CSU has to offer.
Reading at the Rec
Before Summer Camp begins, we will be providing an alternative option for your child – Reading at the Rec. From 7:30-9am, have your child enrolled in this early morning reading option. The focus of the program is to help enhance reading skills and to promote lifelong learning. $5/session
Stay and Play
Stay and Play is an alternative program for a child ending summer camp. This program from 4-5:30pm gives the child more time at the Recreation center to focus on games and the rules of sports. $5/session
Safety is our top priority for your camper. All Camp Staff is First Aid/ AED/ CPR certified and we maintain a camper to staff ration of 8:1. We also ask for identification upon picking up your camper.
