HIKE

IRON MOUNTAIN is tucked in the residential Iron Mountain Neighborhood—just five minutes from downtown— and the short, steep trail leads to epic town and ski resort vistas. Pups welcome! DALY CANYON begins at the top of Main Street where the road turns to dirt. See mining ruins and colorful wildflowers before reaching the Deer Valley Montage—a great respite for a mid-hike drink or snack. SWANER PRESERVE AND ECOCENTER protects natural wetlands with easy ambling on its Wetland Discovery Trail. Follow the in-town McLeod Creek Trail to see beaver dams, a roaring creek, and rolling hills. ARMSTRONG TRAIL is popular because the aspens and evergreens provide shade on summer days. Begins at Park City Mountain’s Silver Star Lift and takes you to a picturesque view of town. Ends near Silver Star Cafe— an excellent post-hike brunch destination. MID MOUNTAIN TRAIL stretches 23 miles at 8,000 feet of elevation from Deer Valley to above the Utah Olympic Park, but you can easily hike shorter sections to enjoy the vibe without the full commitment.

Whether you’re skiing fresh powder or pedaling legendary trails, Park City offers endless outdoor adventures throughout the year. We’ve Scouted our favorite slopes, trails, and waterways to find the best activities in town and beyond.

Cool off in the area’s rivers and reservoirs with fishing, floating, and paddling near town. PROVO RIVER is a premier blue ribbon trout fishery popular with fly fishers seeking brown and rainbow trout. Go out alone or guided with Trout Bum 2 Fly Shop. JORDANELLE RESERVOIR bustles with boaters, wakeboarders, tubers, and paddlers. Camp on the shore and find places to swim, fish, and hike. Hailstone is the busier recreation area, while Rock Cliff offers more solitude. ECHO RESERVOIR is located at 5,560 feet in the town of Coalville and is open to motorized and non-motorized boats. Popular with stand-up paddleboarders, kayakers, and campers with plenty of places to hammock along the shore. DEER VALLEY LAKE is an ideal place for little ones to learn to paddleboard without motorized boats. Rent one onsite from Park City SUP and paddle around before a lunch break at the waterside Deer Valley Grocery Cafe. HOMESTEAD CRATER is a natural geothermal spring under a 55-foot limestone dome where you can soak, snorkel, and do stand-up paddleboard yoga. It’s also the only warm water scuba diving destination in the Continental U.S.

Ranked as a Gold-Level Ride Center by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA), Park City is home to more than 450 miles of rideable rails. Choose from flowy downhill singletrack, mellow in-town paths, or tough mountain climbs.

BIKE

THE HISTORIC RAIL TRAIL begins in town and follows an old mining railroad line for 28 miles to Echo Reservoir. Bike, run, walk, or ride a horse on this mostly gravel, sometimes asphalt, path that winds through natural areas and farming towns. WASATCH CREST TRAIL is a high-alpine pedaling paradise along Big Cottonwood Canyon and Park City that descends into Mill Creek Canyon. Rather not commit to it all? Ride the ridgeline on an out-and-back trail section in Park City. DEER VALLEY is known for challenging downhill riding Nail Driver, Tidal Wave, and Tsunami. But Holy Roller is ideal for those new to chairlift-served, downhill flow trails. Rentals and lessons available. ROUND VALLEY is a picturesque area where you can bring your pup and ride through sagebrush on this winding trail network that ranges from easy paved options to technical flow trails. MID MOUNTAIN TRAIL showcases spectacular aspen and conifer groves, deep canyons, town views, and creeks more than 23 miles of riding at 8,000 feet in elevation. GLENWILD is one of the easiest technical trails in town and offers a variety of bikeable loops for every ability level.
