Mission Concepción was dedicated by Franciscans in 1755 and named in honor of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. It is one of the best preserved of the five Texas Missions on the Unesco World Heritage site and stands proudly as the oldest unrestored church in America. Mission Concepción was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970 and is part of the San Antonio Missions National Park.
