Meeting with new Mountain Training Board Some advance notice – the Scouting Ireland Hill Walking Adventure Skills Team is hosting a meeting with the new all-island Mountain Training Board (part of Mountaineering Ireland) on the evening of Monday 4th March. Part of the agenda will include: • Current interaction between the Mountain Training Board and Scouting Ireland • Interaction between the two organisations on the current mountain training schemes primarily Mountain Skills, Mountain Leader, Low Land Leader and Single Pitch Award and the new awards launching in 2019 including ones for climbing walls and what supports we can put in place to allow scouters achieve these awards. • Possible new training not in the above schemes • How the Mountain Training Board can support scouting Ireland training needs.
The Hill Walking Team will be making a presentation to the meeting on our current status, successes and challenges and where we see the opportunity to develop and cooperate.
