The ‘Share Beaver’ The Beaver Scout motto is: Sharing, sharing, sharing! A simple idea which you may like to introduce in your Beaver Scout Colony is the role of the ‘Share Beaver’. At each weekly meeting, a Beaver Scout from the Colony is chosen to be the Share Beaver. That Beaver Scout must bring treats for the whole Colony the following week- fun-sized apples, bananas, mandarin oranges, etc. They can hand the treats out to their fellow Beaver Scouts at the end of the weekly meeting, just before going home. The current Share Beaver then picks a name from a hat to choose the Share Beaver for the following week. Keep all names on individual lollipop sticks and throw away each stick as it comes out each week, allowing each Beaver Scout to get a turn at being the Share Beaver throughout the Scouting year. Why not use a spare Memory Bag as the ‘hat’? Mascot In order to remind your Share Beaver to bring treats the following week, you may like to introduce a mascot. This could be a soft toy of a beaver or any other teddy. The Beaver Scout brings this home to ‘mind’ and returns it with treats the following week!
