Description Gasóga na h Éireann / Scouting Ireland’s ‘Heritage Project Team’ is a project team which falls within the scope of the ‘Volunteer Resource Management & Group Support Department’. Membership of the team is open to all members of the Organisation who shall apply for membership through an annual ‘open call’. A ‘Team Lead’ will be appointed by the Core Team to lead and coordinate the team. Duration of Team Duration: 12 months Commencing: 1st March 2021 There will be annual open call for this team and or as necessary to fill positions. There will be an annual review of all team members. Aims of the Team Aims and objectives are as follows: • • • • • •
To source, protect, restore and exhibit Scouting memorabilia and artefacts. To provide access to the memorabilia to such persons in receipt of the endorsement of the Core Team. To publish a tri-annual development plan, in consultation with the Core Team. To develop proposals and policies on how to promote all aspects of heritage for Scouting Ireland. To advise the Core Team on all heritage related matters. To provide heritage information to Scout Groups upon request.

To develop an online experience of Scouting memorabilia for the benefit of Scouting Ireland members. To investigate the prospect of having a permanent exhibition of Scouting Ireland memorabilia.
Accountability Members of the team are accountable for the heritage of Scouting Ireland and the two founding Associations. All members of the team are accountable to the Core Team and department manager, or their delegate, through the Team Lead. All members of the team must adhere to the Project Team Code of Conduct and will receive a Letter of Appointment. The team’s annual budget will be approved by the Department Manager and the Heritage Team Lead (or their delegate) will administer the budget and monitor spending associated with the team. Reviews With the assistance and support of the team members, the Team Lead will conduct bi-annual reviews of the tri-annual plan for submission to the Core Team for consideration. An annual report and review should be submitted to the Core Team within 6 weeks of the end of year. Assigned Duties 1. To source, protect, restore and exhibit Scouting memorabilia and artefacts which supports the Scouting Ireland strategy. 2. To contribute to the history of Scouting in Ireland. 3. Other agreed duties as may be assigned from time to time. Meetings Project Teams will meet a minimum of six times per year. Members of the Core Team may attend any meeting of the Heritage Team to offer advice and/or guidance.

Project roles and team structure will be agreed with the Core Team prior to the Heritage Team formally commencing its work. From time to time, the Core Team may ask the Heritage Team to assume additional duties or specific tasks. These terms of reference can be amended by the Core Team, in consultation with the Heritage Team. Members of the Heritage Team may claim reasonable expenses incurred in the course of the team’s work. Financial matters must be carried out in accordance with the procedures outlined in Scouting Ireland’s ‘Financial Handbook’. All individuals appointed to the Heritage Team will be required to complete and agree to a verification process. The work of the project team must support Scouting Ireland’s published Strategy. The work of the project team must not compromise Scouting Ireland’s Risk Register. The work of the project team must be carried out in accordance with best practice and good governance.
Measurables The Team shall prepare an annual report. The report shall describe the activities of the Heritage Team for the preceding calendar year, progress on the tri-annual plan and plans for the coming 12 months. Apply Applications through: Click Here
