Jennifer Zheng, piano Jennifer Zheng is a senior at Emory studying applied mathematics and statistics and double majoring in music with a piano performance track. Zheng has been playing the piano for 15 years and is currently studying under Patricia Dinkins-Matthews. Zheng is from Shanghai, China, and moved to Houston in eighth grade. At Emory, Zheng began her piano studies with Dinkins-Matthews in her first semester and later joined the Department of Music as a music major in the second semester. Since then, she has been involved with Collaborative Piano, the Emory University Chorus, and Mu Phi Epsilon. She was awarded the Friends of Music Scholarship for her efforts. Aside from piano performance, Zheng is actively engaged in computational mathematics research. She served as an EPASS tutor for mathematics and an academic fellow, and is also conducting research under the Department of Mathematics. After graduation, she will attend Stanford to pursue a computational and mathematical engineering doctoral degree. Throughout the years of learning, music has become an inseparable part of Zheng’s life. She is thankful for her teachers, friends, and families along the way.
