Vistoso Helpful Hands is an all-volunteer organization assisting SCOV residents who need help in a temporary crisis, or needy situation. We assist with caregiver relief, shut-in visiting, transportation, animal care, handyman services, light housekeeping, yard care, paperwork organization, errands, meal preparation or picking up take-out meals from The Views Restaurant. We also have a resource file with referrals for longer term paid and volunteer assistance. Interested volunteers apply at the Welcome Center. You will be called back to provide information and answers to your questions.

Wheels for Kids

Do you remember your first bike? Wheels for Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing rehabbed bicycles to children and families in need in the Tucson area. To date, we have donated 4,500 bikes to local nonprofits, who then distribute the bikes to their clients. Some of our partner organizations include Refugee Focus, Boys and Girls Club of Tucson, Children’s Advocacy Center, Casa de los Niños, Ronald McDonald House and Youth On Their Own. Wheels for Kids is an all-volunteer effort, and we are always happy to welcome new people to our team. If you are interested in learning more, please visit our website or call Tom Terfehr. The Beauty of Being Here–The Art of Jennifer Clarke. Jennifer is a print maker, originally from England who works in the process of mezzotint. Daughters of the American Revolution

The last DAR meeting of the season will be held on Thursday, May 11, 1 PM, Western National Parks Office, 12880 N. Vistoso Village Drive, Oro Valley. Any woman who is descended from a person who supported the American Revolution is eligible for membership. DAR is a national service organization founded in 1890, with almost 200,000 active members worldwide.

Santa Catalina Mental Health Ministry

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southern Arizona will present “Helping a Loved One With Mental Illness,” Sunday, May 21, 1-3 PM, or Monday, June 5, 6-8 PM, 14380 N. Oracle Rd. Come and learn how you can create a loving and caring relationship with your loved one who is living with mental illness. The same program will be presented both dates.

Square Dancing

Dancers are squaring up on Sundays from 7-9 PM in the SaddleBrooke area featuring plus level dancing. Couples and singles are welcome. Dress is casual.
