Today, computing is rapidly changing from desktop and laptops computers to tablets and phones. The Windows environment is being replaced with the iOS of Apple phones and iPads, or the Android OS on Android devices. Through these personal devices, the world quickly connects. Now lights, security systems, music, lectures and TV are being accessed through these new devices with more being added daily. Are you ready for the new world? If not, we’re here to help.

Dues for 2022-2023 are $10/household, payable on our website. For your dues, your club offers product advice, help sessions, phone/tablet support, individual assistance and classes. We also offer YouTube assistance, Alexa support, navigating healthcare sites and general email and texting communication. We welcome suggestions for classes.

Computer help is available to members by calling the help desk number 520-329-7661. We provide this option, so we can match a Help Desk Assistant to your specific problem. This information can also be found on the Technology Club website.

Do you know what the seemingly funny square thing (QR code) in the header above is about? Stay tuned. See Democratic Club Richard Kopp 520-342-6633 richardkopp@mac.com No meeting in July

With the Arizona primaries approaching rapidly, the Democratic Club is counting on all members to vote in the election on August 2. To gather strength and fortitude for the push ahead, the Democratic Club board has decided to not hold a meeting in July. Saturday, August 13, we hope that everyone turns out to discuss the results of the primary and plan for the general election in November by joining the meeting on Zoom. We hope to see you there.

Although there are no fireworks in SCOV, many of us are spending our summers in other locations. Please try to keep your dog away from fireworks if possible. Since fireworks may trigger the flight-or-fight reaction, make sure your dog has ID tags with your phone number. If you are at home, leave the TV or radio on to help mask the sound of the fireworks. If your dog is highly sensitive, consider a Thundershirt or calming supplements. Have a safe and fun July 4th.

It’s a great way to meet new people and enjoy the camaraderie we have established. It is vital that we recruit more volunteers if we want to keep the Wisconsin Club alive. Contact Anne.

The Theatre Club is taking the summer off. Before we ended our season last May, a group of club members, along with singers from the Kactus Krooners, traveled to the Fairwinds retirement community to entertain the residents with some comedy and singing acts. Many of our past thespians reside there and all the residents enjoyed us bringing the “theatre” to them. Have a great summer; see you in September.
