THE DIVOTS – June 2019

From the Pro Shop

Summer is Coming The warm weather is finally here. With the warmer temperatures comes allergy season and the first appearances of our favorite reptile, the rattlesnake. We must all be careful and give them a wide berth. If you must go into the desert, and we recommend you don’t, look first for the snakes and second for your ball. A golf ball is not worth a snake bite. As a reminder the rules of golf now recommend a local rule that if your ball goes into the desert you may place the ball in the fairway nearest to where it went out of play with a 2-stroke penalty. This will eliminate the need for entering the desert areas and keep you safe from the unseen critters lurking in wait. Be safe and have fun! We will miss all our winter friends as they head back North. Thank you for helping make The Views Golf Club the place to play in Southern Arizona. To those of you staying with us through the summer months, we look forward to continuing to make your golf experience the best that we can. Let’s have a great summer!

Great job to all of you. Well played!

May 24 - Ted Sorich shot 75 to be 6 strokes under his age on May 24. Congrats to our Assistant Golf Professional, Tim Lochner, on making a hole in one at The Stone Canyon Club. Tim aced the 6th hole from 144 yds using a pitching wedge. Great job everyone! A Tip from the Pro Did you know that the average PGA Tour player practices the short game 80% of their total practice time? What’s your percentage? If you’re like most of us, it’s probably the opposite, or 20% of your practice time. Try switching that around and see what happens. If you’re still having trouble, come join us for our Wednesday morning 8 AM clinics either for full swing or short game. See you all around The Views. Have a great June!
