October 2019 From The Pro Shop

Overseed and More Overseeding is in process, and the golf course re-opens on Monday, October 14. The driving range is currently available to hit balls off the mats only. As a reminder, once we are open to play, golf carts need to remain on the cart path only until Tuesday, October 29. Please remember to change over your sand bottles to the seed mixture once we re-open the golf course. Thank you for your cooperation. As our winter residents and guests start to return to play golf or re-join the club, we want to remind you of our Referral Program for first-time Annual golf pass sales. An individual who makes a referral resulting in the purchase of a first-time annual pass (resident or nonresident) will receive a 10% Pro shop credit for the amount paid for the pass. To receive this credit the referral form located in the Pro Shop must be completed and submitted to the Pro Shop before or with the purchase of a first-time annual pass.

We look forward to another outstanding season and would like to welcome back all our seasonal residents. Please let our professional, friendly staff know if there is anything, we can do to help provide a more positive and memorable golf experience for you. The ever-popular Yappy hour returns on November 6 at 4 PM on the Driving Range. All well-mannered, leashed dogs with current vaccines are welcome to come for their own Happy/Yappy Hour. Always a fun way to meet with old friends and new. Don’t miss it. The next demo day with many of the top golf companies represented will be November 8 from 11 AM – 3 PM at the driving range. Come on out and test products by Srixon, Xxio, Cobra, Cleveland, Puma & Sketchers. Food & beverages will also be available for purchase. Everyone is invited! Tip from the Pro It’s that time of year when, because of overseeding, we are forced to hit off mats. When we hit off mats, we can get a false read on our ball striking. The club can skip off the mat into the ball, still giving a good ball flight and adequate distance. When we are back on regular turf, this same impact point will cause a fat or heavy shot lacking in distance. Try to concentrate on the ball first and then mat contact. Execute this, and you’ll feel and hear a well-struck ball with no false reading. Try this!
