SHASTA CASCADE WONDERLAND ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING Tuesday June 10, 2014 California Welcome Center The regular quarterly meeting of the Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association was held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Anderson Welcome Center. The meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m. by Chairman Ed Rullman. The following board members and guests were present: In Person: Ed Rullman – President – City of Redding Deb Lucero – Director - Butte County Linda Austin – Director – Shasta County South Laurie Baker – SCWA General Manager Lisa May – SCWA Director of Tourism Development & Sales Jeff Titcomb – Treasurer – Plumas County Bink Huddleston - Attendee Via Conference Phone: Lorissa Soriano – Director – Modoc County Matt Doyle – Director – Shasta County North Marshal Pike – Director – Tehama County Kelli Gant – Director -Trinity County 1. Call to order at 10:05 a.m. 2. Confirm Quorum  Roll call taken with attendance sign-in sheet  Quorum confirmed with 8 Board Members in attendance (4 needed for a quorum) 3. Approval of Agenda  Ed Rullman made motion to approve agenda - Linda Austin 2nd  Vote: 8 approve, 0 opposed, 0 abstained  Motion passed to accept agenda as submitted 4. Approval of Minutes from March 2014 meeting  Motion to approve March 2014 minutes by Jeff Titcomb , Linda Austin 2nd motion  Vote: All in favor, 0 opposed 5. Financial Report  Budget to actual as of April 2014 was presented by Laurie Baker  Discussion, clarification, questions and answers regarding various line items  Ed moved for approval of SCWA budget, Jeff 2nd .  Vote: All in favor, none opposed  Budget passes as presented 6. Board Elections  Ed noted the need to elect President, VP, Secretary Treasurer. Ed is willing to continue as President.  Marshal approved, Deb 2nd  Vote: all approved, none opposed.  VP-currently Dave Gowan (not present). Ed asked if anyone else wants to be VP. Jeff nominated Dave Gowan, Linda 2nd.


 Vote: all in favor, none opposed.  Secretary/Treasurer – currently Jeff Titcomb. Linda nominated Jeff Titcomb, nd Deb 2 .  Vote: all approved, none opposed.  Ed noted Siskiyou County Board member vacancy. Laurie shared Marci Wenstad of Best Western Plus Treehouse has been asked. Ed suggested Keli Anthis-Strawberry ValleyInn. Kelli Gant is the official board member for Trinity County. Michael Han accepted Lassen County position but not official yet. 7. Share What’s New in your Region:  Lorissa – 3rd Annual Outdoor Sportsman Expo June 21-22. Laurie noted we are pushing out event through social media but not able to cross market with Celebrate 10 due to contract restrictions. Ed will promote with hotels in RTMG.  Ed suggested calendar of events for more cross promotion between county events. Discussion on event calendar formatting, choice of events and distribution with goal of drawing people from out of area.  Jeff - Plumas Boston qualifier 8/15 - 8/16 Running with the Bears. Lorissa added that Modoc has a Boston qualifier also. Laurie suggested a Shasta County Boston qualifier calendar. Jeff added 10/4 Leaf Peepers for fall colors. Dragon [Nakoma Golf Resort] reopened in Plumas – the last Frank Lloyd Wright building from plans after he died. Barn Quilt Trail, most with love letter theme from Civil War.  Deb - Butte County – Salmon Festival, Oroville 18k people 4th weekend in September, 900 cars Feather Fiesta in May, Artober Fest in October, Arts & Culture Events alliance with five counties. Sundial Music Festival 6/25 – 7/2.  Marshall – Tehama County – Anniversary of National Park Service, a year-long event for 2015, planning forth coming and good to incorporate events within each county.  Ed - Celebrate 10 - 6/20 and 21, Bandaloop dancers, ends 4th July with fireworks.  Deb - Brewfest with 112 microbrews and concerts with food and music. August 15th – 23rd. Air show last Fri & Sat in Sept. This could be our last year for the area show. October is Big Bike weekend. Kelli Gant called in at 11:02am  4th July celebration with Rotary. Trinity Journal website has calendar. Mountain Bike event, Trinity Alps Chamber music, Art Cruise each month, Trinity Fair, Trinity Trailer Trash event 8/9, Lyons BBQ 8/31 Car Show & Shine.  Jeff-Tehama-100th anniversary of Lassen eruption (1914 first eruption and 1918 the last eruption.)Deb added the Historical Society has pictures.  Lorissa – 30th Anniversary of Trinity Alps Wilderness 8.
