Myles and Brody are two friends who couldn't be more different. Myles is a hopeless romantic looking for his perfect man while Brody is a player who hooks up nightly in an attempt to avoid a relationship. After one exceedingly bad date, the guys make a pact with each other; to be together if neither finds love in ten years time. The catch is, time has rapidly progressed and the clock is quickly running out. Furthermore, truth be told, neither really is looking to marry his longtime best friend. Now, it’s two months shy of their deadline, and both friends set off to do whatever it takes to avoid ending up as each other’s last resort. As the fateful date approaches, they must come to terms with the depth of their feelings. Director JC Calciano (Is It Just Me?, ECupid) whips together a charming romantic comedy that tackles the fine line between settling down and staying single. It doesn’t hurt that the guys are pretty hot, too.

The Dream Children is a haunting and provocative film about a troubled TV personality who struggles to find meaning in his life in the face of the superficial world he has created. Smothered by celebrity and materialism, his only release from his numbed state is through shallow sexual encounters with the acquaintances that orbit his life. When his long-time partner hurls him headfirst into fatherhood, his initial reluctance is gradually replaced with love, as he discovers in his new family a bond stronger than any he has experienced before. But the return of an unexpected visitor triggers off a series of events that challenges their newfound happiness. The Dream Children is an ambitious film that is at once explicit, intimate, and subtle, casting its gaze across a broad range of themes with sensitivity.

BFFS Directed by Andrew Putschoegl USA, 95 Minutes
Director Andrew Putschoegl brings a funny and fresh perspective to the female buddy comedy genre. After receiving a gift of a getaway weekend at a couple's retreat, Samantha and Kat go through the motions of repairing their relationship, and in doing so discover that they might just be more than BFFs. When Kat is given a couples weekend workshop as a birthday gift from her mother – despite the fact she never plans to reignite relations with her ex – she declines the invitation with her usual sarcasm and pessimism. Later that night, as Sam opens Kat’s gifts, the two drink tequila and argue over who gets what present. Then Sam has an idea: what if they went to the couples workshop together? What begins as a joke soon escalates into a plan to pose as a couple, relishing the free weekend retreat, all the while secretly mocking the other struggling relationships. But as soon as they arrive, the weekend brings a different kind of amusement. The more Kat and Sam plunge into the activities, the more they find themselves working on a relationship that doesn’t even exist, raising emotions neither anticipated nor bargained for. Held at the core by the strength of the leads (Tara Karsian and Andrea Grano), BFFs is propelled forward by the hilarious combinations of supporting couples, sharp dialogue, and weekend shenanigans. Always remaining full of heart, BFFs never strays into cliché, successfully satisfying and surprising us by the time the credits roll.

Tiger Orange introduces us to Chet (Mark Strano, 2014 Outfest Best Actor) and Todd (Frankie Valenti aka Johnny Hazzard), estranged gay brothers who grew up in a small town in Central California to a homophobic, working class single father. Now adults, the two could not have turned out more differently. Chet, the older brother, runs the family hardware store and still lives in their childhood home where he's cared for their ailing father until his recent death. Todd ran off to LA at eighteen and never looked back. He's burned the candle at both ends his entire life and now homeless, with no cash, he heads back up the coast to the home and the brother he left behind. The surprise visit shakes up Chet’s safe and guarded life and the two of them living under one roof becomes a recipe for disaster. Soon Todd is stirring up trouble in town with his sexual misadventures and in-your-face bravado and Chet struggles to keep him in check while slowly unraveling himself. But when Todd makes a move on Brandon, a secret high school flame of Chet’s, all of their long-simmering resentments quickly boil to the surface. Chet has all but abandoned his own life to care for their father and keep any semblance of the family together while Todd has lived an open life, bearing the brunt of their father's rage. Now, without Dad to blame, the brothers are forced to not only hash out their differences but begin to examine the common bond they never truly acknowledged.

Straight from the best-selling pages of Jacqueline Susann’s audacious novel comes the unforgettable tale of three glamorous women who will stop at nothing to get to the top. Oscar® winners Patty Duke, Lee Grant and Susan Hayward team with Sharon Tate and Barbara Parkins for this spectacular, satisfying and well-before-its-time tale of hedonism and one-upmanship on the road to fame. Well-bred, small-town Anne Welles (Parkins) arrives in New York eager for fame but settles for a job assisting a theatrical attorney. The job leads her to cross paths with Helen Lawson (Hayward), the grand dame of Broadway musicals, and Neely O'Hara (Duke), an up-and-coming performer whom Lawson unceremoniously boots from her latest show. Neely lands on her feet thanks to a series of nightclub gigs, and soon she and Anne befriend Jennifer North (Tate), a buxom starlet. As Neely becomes a huge star of stage and screen and Jennifer appears topless in a string of European "art" films, Anne becomes a wealthy cosmetics spokeswoman and suffers though a passionate but failed affair with an aspiring writer. As the pressures of fame and failed romance take their toll on all three women, they take refuge in food, sex, liquor, and pills that they call “dolls.” As they careen down the path to superstardom, one of them may face more self-destructive behavior than she can handle in this riveting and acclaimed film.

Age of Consent follow the history of The Hoist, London’s first and only gay sex fetish bar, as it explores the cultural evolution of gay life and sex in modern London through AIDS, gentrification, and the ongoing political struggle to decriminalize homosexual activity in the UK. Age of Consent is not for the faint of heart. To be straightforward (so to speak) it is explicit and leaves little to the imagination. The documentary opens with the line "The story of The Hoist is the story of gay sex.” From there, a journey into a safe space where the libido reigns and judgment is nonexistent and fully exposed on the big screen. Age of Consent is informative and eye-opening – did you know more gay men were arrested and convicted of gross indecency in 1989 than in 1966? – while being playful, funny and downright filthy. Described by the barman as a ‘sneaky, sexy, dirty wee hole’, The Hoist and its patrons could be seen as representing the antithesis of the recent trend in mainstream gay politics towards assimilation. But, with encroaching gentrification and more people using the internet to hook up, what does the future hold? This film contain sexually explicit material. Absolutely no one under 18 admitted.

As the pair get closer, Rocky seems eager to reveal a secret that Adam is not ready to hear. Silence abounds until one explosive night changes everything about the way they feel about themselves and each other.
Experimental filmmaker Russell Sheaffer's Masculinity/Femininity takes over where his short film starring James Franco left off. Shot mainly on super8 film, this is not a typical documentary. Sheaffer asks filmmakers, academics, gender theorists, and artists to present their concepts of gender construction in what works as a sort of performance piece rather than as full-on narrative. In fact, the filmmakers themselves question whether Masculinity/Femininity is scripted or not. Whether through monologue, visual art, performance art, or storytelling, individuals including B. Ruby Rich, Susan Stryker, Barbara Hammer, John Greyson, Chris Vargas and Yvonne Tasker represent the personal experiences they have had with gender-normative societal constructs. Each performance is unique, but somehow viewers will be able to see something of themselves in each one.

A hilarious and moving new documentary takes us into the life of legendary actor, activist and pop culture icon George Takei, who has conquered new frontiers from outer space to Capitol Hill with his trademark grin. Oh, my! Over the past seven decades, actor and activist George Takei has boldly journeyed from a World War II internment camp to the helm of the Starship Enterprise to the daily news feeds of Facebook fans. Best known for playing Sulu on the original Star Trek TV series and in the six movies that followed, Takei has become social-media royalty. Unofficially dubbed the King of Facebook, he counts more than 5 million fans in his online empire – including Trekkies, Howard Stern listeners, and the LGBTQ community – who devour his quirky mix of kitten jokes, Star Trek references, heartfelt messages, and sci-fi/fantasy memes. An outspoken advocate for civil rights, Takei has used his unmistakable baritone in several satiric PSAs, including one in response to Tennessee’s infamous “Don’t Say Gay” bill that encourages viewers to say, “It’s OK to be Takei.” Join George and his husband, Brad, on this star’s playful and profound trek for life, liberty, and love.
