Dexter Fernandes & Shourya Patel Ayodhya (Vadodara)
The house is designed for a family that believes in simplicity. The family is down to earth and believes in spending a lot of time together and they enjoy being in each others' company. Essentially simple in spirit, the intrinsic idea was to design and create a house that would be an exemplar of fusion between elegance and minimalism. The house is a true architectural and visual delight that appropriately caters to the needs of the family without losing the essence of their graceful traditions. The house is open, airy, and well-ventilated. The interior experience is defined by generous freeflowing and bold transition spaces that maximize the visual connection with landscape.

enlivening This house speaks volumes about simplicity, elegance and clever architectural sense. The structure stands on a long plot having various connections with gardens all around. The interiors are minimal and yet have a strong tinge of an Indian flavor to it. An interesting composition of cubes and frames is what the architecture of this residence is all about. The design also aimed at having proper functional spaces that encourage maximum family interaction. The entire house has been created very sensitively in order to make every member of the family feel utmost comfort of home. Simplicity and serenity permeates the entire space.
“Every element of the house works together as a poetic whole. It borrows and returns views and vibrations from each other in a constant symbiotic play of form, space and light.

The collection and landscape was incorporated in a harmonious way and it comfortably cadenced with the whole environment. The visible and professed connections between the different elements of the house are treated with extreme care. The architecture thus purely gels with the surrounding elements and nature to offer a rich and beautiful life.

the challenges The length of the plot was huge as compared to its width, so the biggest challenge was to cut down the length of the house in terms of feel or experience. This problem was tackled by tactfully designing a skewed plan that created very interesting triangular spaces on the outside which were treated as various landscape pockets that eventually seemed to be well woven in the entire composition.
the influences The inspiration of this house is derived from the simplicity and functionally of geometric designs.
