The primary element in the client brief was that the house needed to be planned and follow compliance with Vastu Shastra norms. The entire designing and planning was guided by this sole factor. The other essential characters of the house were to be peaceful, clam, open, minimalistic, straight lined, contemporary and opulent.

overall feel of the house is pleasant owing to it being well ventilated and naturally lit. The planning uses this opportunity to include large openings which help circulate fresh air throughout the house. The house has one floor and a terrace. The lower level contains the family seating area, pooja room, two bedrooms, kitchen, dressing room and dining area. The first floor houses a semi covered terrace, home theater room, master bedroom, children's bedroom, and study room. The floor is also enhanced with landscaped areas that visually connect to the terrace.

“I asked Dipak to buy a few colourful wine glasses to highlight the crockery unit and he said - why not buy all the glasses. We ended up buying about 120 wine glasses of different shapes and colour and I had to design a special cabinet for the same.”

Transcendence - Meditation Space The highlight of the whole house is the meditation room, designed specially on the terrace. Substantial attention was paid to the purity of color, form through creative use of lighting, everything leading a touch of drama. It is designed in such a way that it connects the master bedroom. The lighting in it is in perfect harmony fulfilling the purpose of the room.

the challenges One of the biggest challenges while building this house was sourcing of quality bricks, in the radius of 200 kilometres. It was also difficult to excavate the rocky surface for the foundation. The toughest challenge was in adhering to the so-called principles of Vaastu Shastra, strictly.

the influences The brief by the client itself was an inspiration, because the client wanted the house to be an exceptional blend of modernity and opulence.
