Practicality and interaction topped the list of requirements in the design brief from Mr. Sameer Gupta. He is a civil engineer with an experience of over 25 years in the real estate sector. He expected simple things from the house like large openings providing ample ventilation and unobstructed views, modern straight lines and a minimalist flair in his house. The aim was also to design functional spaces that encourage maximum family interaction. Folds of plates were transformed as concrete wraps and were designed to make the strong solid structure appear delicate and sophisticated.

The ground floor consists of a parking space, an office, a gym, home theater room and a servant’s quarter. The first floor has an airy internal lobby interacting with the drawing room, living room, dining, kitchen and parent’s room. The master bedroom, guest room and daughter's room are on the second floor. All the rooms are connected by a central lounge area. Each furniture piece has been specially designed with contemporary feel. The entire planning and material palette was kept minimal and it was executed with superior quality craftsmanship.

the challenges The biggest challenge was to gel the concept of individual privacy spaces along with interactive home.

the influences “The inspiration for this project came from the brief of the client. As he wanted large openings for natural light to step inside the house, it was necessary to think big in every aspect of our design philosophy. - Space Frame Architects
