creative The location of the house is Ichalkaranji a small town in Maharashtra which is famous for textile work. In the free flowing spaces, the interior decor creates defined spaces & gives warmth through its patterns and textures. White walls and glass also form a pattern completing the feel of Woven house. The house is an example of a highly contemporary styled stone masonry. The furniture and artwork has been meticulously designed and detailed out to suit the woven pattern. The materials are used with surface variations creating subtle patterns, adhering to the concept of woven house.

“The pattern became the soul of the house. The self pattern through placement of material on different levels has created beautiful and subtle texture throughout the house.

the challenges The challenge was to maintain sleek thickness of the slab considering the span they are designed for. Also it was a task to maintain consistency in randomness & shade variation of stone. For neat and clean form the challenge was to achieve clean soffits and large overhangs in form of cantilever slabs which required many structural modifications and skilled labors to achieve a sleek form.

the influences The architecture style of the bungalow is inspired by the city as textile hub. The stone walls are designed as fabric pattern and it continues in interiors on wood and furniture. White walls and glass also form a pattern completing the feel of Woven house.
