The City College General Purpose Classroom Building comprises land acquisition and construction of a 66,000-square-foot general purpose classroom building. The facility will house a Corporate Education Center, five floors of academic classrooms and laboratories for Mathematics, Social and Behavioral Sciences, History and Political Sciences, Black and Chicano Studies, Lease space for the Family Health Center of San Diego, a Food Services C-Store and Espresso bar, a satellite bookstore space, a Dean’s suite and offices for the District's Military Education program. The building will also provide space for collaborative common areas and support space for instructional and staff needs. A seven-story, 400 stall parking structure, located adjacent to the building, is slated to be constructed concurrently with the classroom building.
