Social & Behavioral Sciences Building Project Budget: $40.5 million Targeted DSA Approval: Dec 2012 Targeted Bid Period: Jan 2013 – Feb 2013 Targeted Construction Start: April 2013 Targeted Completion: March 2014 The Social and Behavioral Sciences building will consist of approximately 66,000 GSF of new labs and classrooms for Behavioral Sciences and Social Sciences programs. Fire Science/EMT Training Facility Budget: $16.5 million Targeted DSA Approval: Nov 2012 Targeted Bid Period: Dec 2012 – Jan 2013 Estimated Construction Start: March 2013 Targeted Completion: July 2014 The Fire and EMT Training Facility will consist of approximately 22,900 SF to serve as a classroom and active training center for the Fire Science and Emergency Medical Training (EMT) programs. A‐100 Building Remodel Budget: $6.6 million Targeted DSA Approval: March 2013 Targeted Bid Period: March – May 2013 Estimated Construction Start: October 2013 Targeted Completion: June 2014 This project will provide for the renovation of the existing A‐100 building to house the Continuing Education programs at Miramar. The project will include classrooms, assessment, counseling and parent education spaces in the existing 16,000 gross square feet facility. An outdoor play area for the parent education program will enhance the indoor learning spaces. Cesar Chavez Campus Project Budget: $48.5 million DSA Approval: June 2012 Targeted Bid Period: Feb – March 2013 Targeted Construction Start: April 2013 Targeted Completion: Nov 2014 This project consists of land acquisition and construction of a new 70,000 GSF building to consolidate the current programs at the Cesar Chavez and Centre City campuses. Getting Involved Fill out and submit the SDCCD’s Certification Verification Form Upon submittal and verification, you will be added to the District’s database of small and historically underutilized firms. The database is shared with Design/Build proposal teams looking for firms to include in Design/Build Subcontracting Participation Plans, and with GCs and Campus Project Managers for task order work.
