New Student Services
PROPOSITIONS S & N FACILITIES UPDATE – April 2010 ‘Spring Forward’ with New Projects at Mesa! The demolition of the old I-400 is well underway and will complete by the end of this month. Bids come in on April 9th for the construction of the new Student Services building, which will get underway in May. And, construction for the new Central Plant has just started. There’s always something new at Mesa College, and we are fortunate to be watching a new campus in the making!

New Central Plant Project Pedestrian Path of Travel at Central Plant Construction Site – 4/1/10 thru 12/15/10
The new Central Plant project started over Spring Break. This project will provide heating and cooling for the new Student Services building, I-300 and the future Math + Science building. Pedestrian access is maintained all around the project site (please see the green path on the diagram to the left). The road behind K-200 will be excavated in 3 phases for the placement of new piping. Access to the Stockroom and Reprographics and all delivery access will need to be from the westerly roadway behind the LRC during construction. The north-south service road access will be closed.

Mesa College Building Awards!!! Allied Health building received the “Most Outstanding Building Award” from the Construction Management Association of America (SD Chapter). The Police Station was certified by the United States Green Build Chapter as a LEED ‘Gold’ project (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). LEED ‘Gold’ is higher than the SDCCD standard LEED ‘Silver,’ which means that the Police Station is exemplary in energy management and is low impact to the environment.
