As a retired judge with the endorsement of the Republican Party, Bailey’s priorities include reversing soft-on-crime policies like the sanctuary state bill. He strongly believes in the death penalty.

As former president of the California Democratic Club, Campbell began running due to the inadequate response to the Hepatitis A breakout, and wishes to tackle the homeless crisis, climate change, and fight for all residents to receive an equal share.

Incumbent Senour has served Trustee Area A for 27 years. Senour was professor emeritus for 40 years at San Diego State University and served on boards including the Convention Center.

Serving her second term, Zapf has put efforts into delivering services such as fixing roads, improving public safety, and cleaning up parks and beaches. She is endorsed by the San Diego Police Officer Association.

Hickman spent ten years in the Veterans Administration. She pledges to fully fund the Promise program and continue to diversify faculty.

Community College District, Area C

Myrtle Cole, Democrat

Cole was a City College lieutenant police officer before getting her MBA at National University. Her priorities include new businesses and jobs, housing affordability, and better maintenance of neighborhood streets, parks, and libraries.

Monica Montgomery, Democrat

Loren S. Casuto

Milgrim’s focus is keeping community college affordable. He thinks taxpayer dollars require transparency.

Montgomery is a lawyer currently working for the ACLU. Her priorities include access to careers and business growth, police reform/accountability, and improving the safety and health of her community, beginning with housing the homeless.

Casuto’s goal is focusing on student education and needs.

City Council, District 8

Alvarez promotes Continuing Education programs. He plans to run for county supervisor in 2020.

Vivian Moreno, Democrat

Aid to San Diego Councilman David Alvarez, District 8 Moreno has worked at city hall since 2010. Moreno wants to keep neighborhoods safe by expanding the police force and grow the economy by investing in area communities.

Antonio Martinez, Democrat

School board member and healthcare counselor State: Martinez’s focus is fixing streets, making healthcare available to everyone and standing up for Lieutenant Governor immigrant communities.

Elo wants free college for all. He is in support of more full-time faculty.
