Discover the Therapeutic Benefits of Another Step to Support Your Journey to Wellness TRANS-
Chances are that you are not familiar with trans-resveratrol, or you have never even heard of it. That puts you in the majority. Lucky for you, you’re in the right place to be educated on and get the facts about trans-resveratrol. Transresveratrol is widely reported to be beneficial to healthy living and has been shown to possess antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, antitumor and estrogenic/antiestrogenic activity.1 You will hear about resveratrol and trans-resveratrol, but the only real difference is that trans-resveratrol is a more bioactive form of the natural chemical and this form is more commonly used in nutritional supplements.2 Resveratrol has also been shown to have cardioprotective and neuroprotective benefits.1
Resveratrol is part of a group of compounds called polyphenols. Polyphenols are micronutrients that naturally occur in plants. Polyphenols are thought to act like antioxidants that protect our bodies against damage that can put you at a higher risk for things like heart disease and cancer.3 Resveratrol is mostly found in the skin of red grapes but is also present in peanuts, red wine, berries and other foods. The trans-resveratrol in our product comes from the plant Japanese Knotweed, a member of the buckwheat family that can be found in 42 states in the U.S. and eight Canadian Provinces.4 The two other main ingredients are Quercetin (plant flavonol) and Hawthorn Berry (antioxidant).
HOW CAN TRANSRESVERATROL HELP ME?
Resveratrol is a multi-tasker, helpful in many areas of our body. The anti-inflammatory properties can improve cardiovascular functions, respiratory diseases and the suppression of inflammation that is associated with neuroprotective effects and has shown promise of stroke treatment. The Cleveland Clinic found that resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant that provides protective benefits for your heart, brain and body. Dr. Julia Zampano, RD, LD from the Cleveland Clinic says, "Resveratrol and other antioxidants are kind of like Saran Wrap for your cells. They wrap around the cell like a nice layer, so when you have compounds floating around in your bloodstream… you have this extra layer of protection." 5
Cardioprotective
Heart disease is a huge problem in our country. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women of most racial and ethnic groups in the U.S.6 Clinical studies involving resveratrol have shown that it helps lower chances of coronary heart disease, heart failure and left ventricular function. In the case of coronary heart disease, there was a decrease in arterial stiffness, plasma levels of total cholesterol, hypertension and inflammation.7 The fact that it helps with your blood flow by keeping arteries and veins open and clear is a huge factor in lowering heart disease.
Neuroprotective
Hundreds of millions of people worldwide are affected by neurological disorders.8 Many of these are in our genes, but supplements like TransResveratrol can help by slowing down the process and maybe even help in preventing neurological disorders. Resveratrol has several neuroprotective roles that can help with neurodegenerative impairments, such as Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s diseases as well as ALS. The protective effects improve mitochondrial functions.1 Mitochondria are known as the “powerhouse of the cell” and generate most of the chemical energy needed to power the cell’s biochemical reactions. In terms of Alzheimer’s prevention, resveratrol may protect nerve cells from damage and fight the plaque buildup that can lead to the disease.9
Resveratrol Has Antiviral Benefits
Resveratrol is a natural compound produced by certain plants. Research has shown a capacity to control fungal, bacterial and viral infections. It is suggested that resveratrol interferes with infection by altering cellular pathways rather than acting directly against the virus itself. Resveratrol has been shown to be a potent antiviral molecule against various types of DNA and RNA viruses.10 In recent years, extensive research tells us about the effect of resveratrol on the regulation of crucial cellular processes such as cell cycle and inflammatory responses. Research has also demonstrated that resveratrol is helpful in relieving pulmonary function in the general population and serves a protective role in respiratory system diseases.1

RESVERATROL & RED WINE
You may have heard that red wine, in moderate doses, could be good for you. The reason is resveratrol. In the 1990s the “French Paradox” attracted attention because of the suggestion that many people from France had a lower occurrence of cardiovascular disease due to moderate consumption of red wine, even though they also enjoyed feasting on saturated fats.10 The polyphenols in red wine, of which resveratrol is one, serve as antioxidants that may help protect the lining of blood vessels in the heart and may help prevent damage to blood vessels and lower blood clotting.11 The darker-colored red wines have a higher concentration of resveratrol. Resveratrol is also found in dark chocolate. We are not in
