Milestone # 2 Group 2, The Muppeteers
Characters Animal – Producer, Pitchfork manager. Demands progress, works with a heavy, controlling hand, is ruthless and forces accountability. Miss Piggy – Self-proclaimed star of the show, Presumptuous manager. She puts her personal needs and objectives above the teams, breeds unhealthy competition. She is confidant and egotistical. Kermit the Frog – Reluctant host, Proactive manager. Has qualities spanning most of the different management types. Persistent, pitchfork manager. Confident, enthusiastic, charming. Drives to support others, and spearheads solutions. Has nurturing ability and product and industry knowledge. Fozzie Bear – Comedian, Passive manager. He is a parenting type manager that develops close relationships with his employees. He wants to make people happy, which creates barriers in their leadership skills. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew – Creator, Problem Solver. He has a one-track mind, is very task-driven and focused, good at putting out fires and leading by chaos Beaker – Creator’s assistant, whistleblower. Swedish Chef – Chef, Pontificating manager. He is sporadic and inconsistent in his decision making, he’s an adrenaline junky. He is approachable, a masterful listener, the only consistency is his inconsistency.
Sam the Eagle – Director, Perfect manager. He has an underlying commitment to continually improve, emphasizes facts and figures in his decision making. He has a vast amount of knowledge and personal experience, and is open to change.
Plot As each member of our muppet team displays variances in character traits, their journey to performing a show will one filled with coordinated chaos! In each episode we will showcase a managerial concept that in the end will establish what we believe a manager should be.
Storyboard Episode 1 – Dr. Honeydew
tries to
overpower Animal, and their personalities collide, creating chaos. This is causing separation within the cast, which needs to come back together and work as a team.
Episode 2 – Arguing
with Miss Piggy in the catering tent, Kermit threatens to back out of hosting the show. The Swedish Chef overhears the commotion and tries to resolve the conflict.
Episode 3 – The Swedish
Chef’s food order did not come in so he can’t prepare meals. The starving cast threatens a hunger strike.
Episode 4 – Beaker witnesses unethical behavior between some cast mates, and reports what he sees to Dr. Honeydew. This episode demonstrates the unethical behaviors that can occur, as well as potential solutions to these problems.
Episode 5 - Although
Fozzie Bear characterizes the role of a kind hearted manager, his kindness and comical ways aren't always the best traits for a manager. In this episode Fozzie Bear’s personal relationships with other members of the cast restricts him from being a effective manager when he is asked to lead the play recital for the week.
Episode 6 – The group gets hopeless because of all the conflict, and they are afraid the show will not go on. Kermit steps up to motivate the team with the qualities of a “proactive manager” and gets the show back on track.
Episode 7 - Lead by Sam the Eagle (perfect manager), the team performs the play and does a great job! Recapping all the chaos that has incurred over the episodes, the muppets join together to admit their faults and evaluate how to fix them. Each member of the team offers constructive criticism on how each member can be better managers.
