Part 2: Questions About the Course

Toggle Comments

1. Which course project(s) or concepts were the most useful or worthwhile? Comments: I thought the project was helpful in implementing the course lessons taught and putting them in real world circumstances. I did not find anything extremely useful, perhaps the class conversations. explora caribe project The client project. explora caribe Designing the mascot it was great that we had a project with real clients and had great presentations from guest speakers The main course project was the most helpful. I would have said the project with Explora Caribe, but due to the lack of contact with them, it really just felt like a waste of time. Working with an international client really showed us the side that we were not accustomed to The making of the booklet was the most useful part of the course, as it could be used as part of a portfolio I loved the presentations. There kind of projects are all really beneficial for me. The 5 forces model and usefulness of swot analysis will always prove valuable to me. Milestones were very useful as well as Steve's feedback 2. What was the least useful aspect of this course? Comments: I thought the least useful aspect was the writing logs because they were repetitive and I would have preferred just reading the material. I cannot pinpoint one thing because I did not find many things more useful. the grateful dead book... so useless The metaphors. the journals each week The five factors none Im not sure The lectures about the readings were hard to understand. They need to be more straightforward. https://carson.ringling.edu/CourseEval/EvaluationResults.jsp?NEXUSID=8863&TERMID=23

nothing every thing was awesome Not having a printer. The wakeup games. There was nothing that was not useful 3. How much did projects and class activities assist in understanding course topics? Explain why or why not. Very Much (5) Very Little (1) 5 4 3 2 1 Avg. 43% 14% 36% 7% 0% 3.9 Comments: Course project did apply the most, others not so much, lectures did little for me. Loved the Chappel Roberts speaker. The journal entries helped with understanding what was going on in the class. Very much Presentations/lectures could be slower explained more. I found it hard to take notes on any presentation because they went too fast. They were very good. They did in many ways. We all learned the language of business. It was really informative. The real life examples. Projects were very beneficial because it helped me understand how to incorporate what I've learned in class in the real world 4. In summary, how would you rate the overall content and organization of the course? Outstanding (5) Unsatisfactory (1) 5 4 3 2 1 Avg. 43% 7% 29% 21% 0% 3.7 Comments: Unorganized and a waste of time in my eyes. Did not learn much. I would have liked to focus more on the class as a whole besides putting so much work into the class project. very well organized It was very good. Very satisfactory. Every aspect of the class was very organized and all the content was relevant and very well thought out

Comments: Steve has concern but does not listen to others points of views and does not understand design. He cares but needs to listen to what his students are telling him directly and indirectly. he was awesome its a shame that we won't have steve as our teacher next year what a loss Steve is concerned for everyone's progress and knowledge of strategic planning He was very caring. Very much. I think he focuses more on the class outside of class then what he is payed for. He was very involved and made sure that everyone was learning and getting something out of the class. Also the writing logs were very helpful because they pushed us to learn, read and participate in class. 2. Did the instructor communicate course concepts, projects or other relevant information with reasonable clarity? Very Clear (5) Not at All (1) 5 4 3 2 1 Avg. 50% 7% 29% 14% 0% 3.9 Comments: Steve constantly changes his feedback he always says one thing one week and another one week. yes his communication skills was amazing He did a very good job. Yes. Steve was a great teacher and is very clear! I usually have problems understanding teachers but Steve was incredibly clear! 3. Did the instructor's evaluations and critiques assist your learning? Please comment why or why not? Very Much (5) Very Little (1) 5 4 3 2 1 Avg. 50% 29% 14% 7% 0% 4.2 Comments: No they did not! Need more specific feedback before the final presentation. Yes he is awesome steve made good recommendations to any problems and offered solutions Very good Yes it did. It filled the holes we had in presentations. Steves feed back and critiques were very helpful. 4. In summary, rate the effectiveness of instruction in the course. Please comment. 1. Did classroom and all related facilities support course needs? Please comment on the physical condition and any safety issues. Very Well (5) Not at All (1) 5 4 3 2 1 Avg. 21% 21% 21% 29% 7% 3.2 Comments: There needs to be a printer on the 2nd floor of the Academic Center available to BOAD students. Yes except the lacking of printer on 2nd floor. WE NEED A PRINTER ON THE SECOND FLOOR FOR BUSINESS STUDENTS TO USE. MY CLASSMATES AND I HAVE BEEN REQUESTING ONE FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. GET US A DAMN PRINTER ALREADY!!! WE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF HAVING TO DISRUPT OTHER CLASSES ON THE 4TH AND 5TH FLOORS JUST TO PRINT OUT A SIMPLE ASSIGNMENT FOR THE CLASS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST FOR YOU GUYS TO BUY US A PRINTER? I HAD NO IDEA RINGLING WAS THIS CHEAP. WE PAY $200,000 FOR AN EDUCATION HERE. MULTIPLY THAT BY ALL THE STUDENTS IN MY MAJOR, AND THATS A LOT OF MONEY. BUY US A PRINTER. BUY US A PRINTER. THAT IS ALL WE ASK. DONT SPEND ANY MORE MONEY ON THE SHITTY CIRCLE CHAIRS THAT NOBODY LIKES. GET US SOMETHING USEFUL AND SPEND MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT WILL HELP US SUCCEED. Kept having issues with picture and audio. Wish there was a printer on the BOAD floor. Need printer for 2nd floor in AC for BOAD students The second floor desperately needs a printer! It is extremely inconvenient not having one there. All of the other floors have plenty of printers to use and it would help to get one for the Business department. WE NEED A PRINTER in the 2nd floor in the AC building please facilitate us with that please make it happen. physical conditions were fine, there is a lot of unused equipment that gets put in BOAD rooms, we really need a printer for the BOAD major on the second floor of the student center We need a printer. The lights are on a fritz and we badly need a printer on our floor. This classroom is neat and simple, not distracting.

1. Please type any additional comments you may have. Comments: WE WANT A PRINTER. Overall, trying to comprehend the very technical aspects of strategic planning was a bit tricky. It would be far easier to explain things in similar terms and examples than conceptualizing business terminology. He is a great teacher and always help student even its outside from class time. Steve is a very good teacher. He has a lot of enthusiasm and it's clear he wants to see us all succeed. Steve is an amazing instructor his enthusiasm is contagious and i have never seen a teacher with so much passion. I will miss this teacher. I think all BOAD courses should drill creativity more then anything else. It is what will make our business program different and better then others out there. Steve is a great teacher and I am very confused and upset on why he will not be coming back! When teachers create a bond with students like Steve has you become a more efficient teacher and learn to relay your message better to the students, Steve learned how to do that well.
