Meet five men and women chasing their versions of the American Dream. In New York, they are an integral part of everyday life and many people depend on them form dog walker to street cart vendors. How do they make ends meet? Local USA My Everyday Hustle reveals the struggles, successes, and daily “hustle” for people we see every day, but don’t really know. After Parkland: Healing a Community and a Nation
On February 14, 2018 a shooter took 17 lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. After Parkland: Healing a Community and a Nation shows how Parkland has turned its grief into healing and meaningful action toward ending gun violence, following the 25-city #NeverAgain summer bus tour. The documentary also features positive change made closer to home, including an anthem honoring Stoneman Douglas students by Melissa Manchester and the Douglas choir. Our Kids: Narrowing the Opportunity Gap
Host Dr. Robert Putnam spotlights innovative leaders and children, working together in nine communities, who struggle to create and inspire solutions that help to narrow the widening opportunity gap between rich and poor on for some 30 million young people denied access to the American Dream on Our Kids: Narrowing the Opportunity Gap. America Reframed: Conversations Along a Postal Route
The documentary explores the rise, demise and contested resurgence of America’s “motor city” through a multigenerational choir of voices who reside in mail carrier Wendell Watkins’s work route. Archival footage and oral histories convey the impetus behind the African American migration up north to push against the boundaries of racial and economic segregation. Blamed for Detroit’s devastation but determined to survive, the resilient community offers creative solutions to reimagine a more inclusive and equitable city.
