OUR VALUES • • • • •

Philanthropy as a preferred choice in expressing a commitment to a better South Dakota Integrity, clarity and transparency in all we do Empowering donors to meet the needs of South Dakotans in their own unique way Strong local communities bonded through shared savings and investment Building long term relationships that focus on the strength and sustainability of South Dakota

OUR HISTORY The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) was created as a public nonprofit corporation on November 11, 1987, as part of the late Governor George S. Mickelson’s vision for South Dakota’s second century. To establish the SDCF, the McKnight Foundation and 3M Corporation issued a $5 million challenge grant to the state of South Dakota. The grant memorialized the life of South Dakota native William L. McKnight, a former CEO of the 3M Corporation and founder of the McKnight Foundation. The state of South Dakota committed $2 million, and within twelve months, SDCF leadership raised the additional $3 million from private donors to fulfill the challenge grant. Today, the SDCF holds approximately $362 million in total assets and manages 984 funds. The earnings from those funds support charitable needs and causes throughout the state. With the continued generosity of South Dakotans and solid investment returns, the SDCF will continue to serve individuals, families and communities across the state for generations to come.

We simplify the charitable giving process with straightforward fund establishment and charitable gift management.

We partner with financial and legal advisors to help individuals incorporate philanthropic goals in their estate plans.

We help communities of all sizes achieve their goals through permanently endowed funds called Community Savings Accounts, which are invested with the SDCF and managed by a local board of directors.

We support charitable and nonprofit organizations throughout the state by offering grant opportunities, establishing agency endowment funds, and providing related administrative support.

PLANNED GIVING BRIEF

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS – THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING How would you like to make a gift today that would enable you and your loved ones to continue to make charitable gifts in the future? When you make a gift of cash or other assets, we take your tax deductible contribution and establish a special account in your name. Your account is then invested and grows over time, allowing you to recommend annual gifts to your favorite charitable organizations. IT'S EASY TO GET STARTED Opening a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) account is easy to do. Simply contact us and we'll help you complete and sign the fund agreement. You may fund your account with a gift of cash, securities, real estate or other assets. Check with us if you have unique or special assets that may be donated in a tax-efficient way. Call us today!

A FLEXIBLE, LOW COST ALTERNATIVE TO A PRIVATE FOUNDATION A DAF offers you a flexible and easy-toestablish vehicle for charitable giving. Unlike private foundation (PF) gifts, DAF gifts generally qualify for a full fair market value charitable deduction and DAFs have lower startup costs. A DAF also permits you to make grants to charity without the unfavorable PF restrictions and excise taxes. RECOMMENDING YOUR GIFTS TO OUR ORGANIZATION Once your account is open, you are ready to begin giving! Simply contact us with your recommendations of how your DAF funds should be distributed and we will issue the check on your behalf. This information is not intended as tax, legal or financial advice. Gift results may vary. Consult your personal financial advisor for information specific to your situation. Copyright © 2019 Crescendo Interactive, Inc. Used by permission.

AN INVESTMENT FOR THE FUTURE A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is like having your own foundation. The fund permits you to make annual gifts and distribution recommendations while you are alive. When you pass away, your children may make recommendations for distributions from the fund. When you establish a DAF with us, you also have the option of later designating the charitable beneficiaries of your fund.

INVESTING IN SOUTH DAKOTA’S FUTURE The goal of the South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) is to make giving back simple and effective by providing trustworthy guidance and investment management.

HOW THE GIVING PROCESS WORKS:

When you establish a fund at the SDCF, the principal of your charitable donation is invested. Each year, a percentage of your fund’s value is made available for distribution through grants to charitable causes. As investment returns accumulate, the fund can continue to impact South Dakotans forever. We put the power of endowment to work for good.

WHERE YOUR DONATIONS GO: We work with you, your family and/or your financial advisor to make giving to causes you care about a seamless process. We offer a variety of fund types to meet your charitable goals. For example, you can designate specific charitable organizations, set up a scholarship for local students, support your local community savings account or make a broad impact on culture, economic development, education, health and human services.

WHO WE SERVE IN ADDITION TO DONORS:

Nonprofit Organizations: In 2019, nonprofits received over $1.2 million from the SDCF through the South Dakota Fund, Community Innovation and Nonprofit Savings Accounts grant programs. In addition, more than $16.5 million was distributed to nonprofits through funds the SDCF manages for our partners. The SDCF also offers agency endowment funds to help nonprofits create long-term funding sources. Communities: The SDCF has a fund type specifically for individual communities called Community Savings Accounts (CSA). A CSA will help support basic needs and enhance the quality of life within a community through grant awards to local organizations for years to come. Today, there are 80 communities partnering with us. Advisors: We partner with professional advisors to help clients accomplish their charitable goals through tax and estate planning.

HOW YOU CAN GIVE:

You can donate a variety of assets to benefit others. We accept:

UNLOCKING THE KEY TO GIVING SDCF Key Club Member, Tona Rozum

If you find yourself sitting across from Tona Rozum for financial guidance, you’re likely to hear a story or two about the impact your philanthropy can have on the causes you care about. As a financial advisor working in Mitchell, Rozum partners with community members to make smart financial decisions for their family and their community. And by smart decisions, she means partnering with the South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) to carry out her client’s philanthropic goals. “I have had the opportunity to serve on many nonprofit boards during my career,” Rozum said, “and I understand how imperative contributions are to organizations who are supporting critical needs and promising opportunities in our state. The South Dakota Community Foundation provides a safe place for people to gift money for long-term benefit.”

Plus, the Community Foundation can provide guidance on what organizations would fit with an individual’s charitable passions. SDCF is “one of the best in the nation, and frankly, the best kept secret,” she adds, a secret that Rozum is more than willing to share with every single client she works with. “When my clients work with the Community Foundation, they can feel confident that there is a plan in place for their philanthropy—an investment policy, a spending policy, and a clear plan as to how a donor’s giving will support a nonprofit forever. It gives clients a sense of comfort.” Rozum plays an instrumental role in the mission of SDCF as a member of The Key Club, a special group of individuals who act as advocates for philanthropy by guiding their clients to give through the Community Foundation. The group is made up of financial and professional advisors from across the state. SDCF has recognized more than 60 partner-advisors through the Key Club. For Rozum, the Key Club is not about membership—but witnessing the joy of giving. “For many people, they find joy in seeing what their gifts can accomplish during their lifetime. It is so fulfilling for donors to gift while they are alive—and to establish a legacy for when they are no longer with us. The Community Foundation makes it a cost-effective, easy process. They make it a joy to be involved.”

If you would like to learn more about how your clients can leave a legacy for charitable causes they care about, please call the South Dakota Community Foundation at 800.888.1842 or visit SDCommunityFoundation.org. DONORS | PAGE 7

The Christen-Larson Heritage Circle honors two very important families in the evolution and continued growth of the South Dakota Community Foundation. Paul and the late Muffy Christen championed growth and sustainability in the communities in which they owned and operated banks. Dale Larson and his late wife, Pat, have quietly supported some of South Dakota’s greatest philanthropic endeavors for decades. Both couples have instilled the spirit of generosity in their daughters to continue to support charitable organizations and programs that help meet basic human needs such as food, clothing, shelter and education. The following 2019 inductees of the Christen-Larson Heritage Circle are shining stars in our state. Their gifts help sustain organizations and communities across South Dakota and the impact will be felt long into the future.

DAN AND ARLENE KIRBY

Leaving South Dakota Better Than They Found It Native South Dakotans Dan and Arlene Kirby of Sioux Falls are longtime supporters of SDCF’s ability to create legacy charitable giving opportunities and connections to local South Dakota communities. “The truth is that most of our philanthropy over the years has been focused on the Sioux Falls area, but more recently we have identified needs and programs which serve South Dakotans more generally,” said Arlene. “Our Sioux Falls experience has taught us that the most efficient way to accomplish long term philanthropy is through community foundations, and Dan’s experience on the SDCF board affirmed that this is the perfect vehicle to use for statewide giving.” Dan served on the SDCF board for 9 years and chaired the Investment Committee for four of those years. PAGE 12

Arlene’s interest in the SDCF arose more recently, as she explored ways to give back to the Wagner area in memory of her parents and grandparents. Dan was born and raised in Sioux Falls, the oldest of the fourth generation of Kirbys to reside there. He spent seven years in California for college and law school in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Dan and Arlene met in 1967. Dan received a call from his father saying a family trip was cancelled. His disappointment was compounded by the fact that his fraternity’s biggest party of the year was scheduled for Saturday night, and now not only was the family trip cancelled, but he didn’t have a date. Fortunately, a friend guaranteed a date for Dan to the big barn dance.

Upon arrival, Dan met his date, Arlene Wagner from Sacramento, California. A friend in the back seat initiated a conversation with Arlene that went something like this: Q: Where did you go over your four-week Christmas vacation? A: To visit my grandmother. Q: Where does she live? A: Oh, a small town in the Midwest. Q: But where did you go?? A: South Dakota…want to make something of it? Q: HAHA…ask your date where he’s from! From this inauspicious start, their relationship blossomed into love, marriage, kids, retirement and memories. It turned out Arlene’s Dad (Lambert “Wag” Wagner) was a third-generation Czech immigrant, whose father and uncles had owned banks in Lesterville, Tabor and Utica, but lost them in the agricultural depression of the teens and 20s. Arlene’s parents lived in Wagner until a few months before her birth in Sacramento, which makes Arlene a true South Dakotan as well. Dan and Arlene were married in Sacramento in 1971. Arlene worked as an international flight attendant while Dan attended law school. Trans International Airlines flew charters out of Oakland, California, and took her to five continents. Her least favorite trips were taking troops into Vietnam, but she enjoyed bringing them home. After marriage, she worked as a travel agent in La Mesa, California. Dan practiced corporate law briefly in San Diego before the couple returned to South Dakota in 1974 where they raised Douglas (1978) and Sharon (1981) who now live with their families in Longmont, Colorado and Fairfax, California. Dan spent his career as Executive VP and General Counsel to Western Surety Company in Sioux Falls. The company was sold to CNA Surety in 1997, and when Dan retired in October 2000, he was the last remaining Kirby at this fourth-generation family business. “The overriding objective of our philanthropy is to leave our neighborhoods better than we found them,” said Dan. “Both of us have been honored to serve on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations that have

opened our eyes to the needs of South Dakotans and to those agencies and programs which best and most efficiently serve them.” The Kirbys have generously established and given to many endowment funds at the SDCF. One example of their philosophy to accomplish long term results came in trying to find solutions for the South Dakota reservations. Like many South Dakotans, the Kirbys are aware of the numerous governmental and private initiatives that have attempted to address poverty, health, addiction and education for Native Americans. “In our experience, most…perhaps all, of these have failed miserably…especially federal efforts,” said Dan. “That’s why we were thrilled in recent years to discover Teach for America, which brings talented young teachers from all over the country to light fires in the youngsters who need an escape from broken lifestyles, with the promise that many will return to the reservations to help others learn that hope is alive for young Native Americans.” Unlike many nonprofit efforts, Teach for America uses strict metrics and can demonstrate marked success in improved graduation rates and acceptances at some of the greatest colleges in the USA. The Kirbys were pleased to establish the Teach for America—South Dakota fund at the SDCF to ensure that this important work continues long after they are gone. When Arlene’s mom passed away, she became intrigued with the possibility of giving back to the Wagner back to the Wagner community where her ancestors lived and died. The SDCF was very helpful in connecting her with the Wagner Community Foundation, a SDCF community savings account, to explore options. “We have been blessed with the opportunity to help improve our communities and believe strongly that endowments are the perfect vehicle to make that happen forever,” said Dan. “Through comprehensive estate planning over the years, which we strongly recommend, we have been able to adequately, but not extravagantly, provide for our descendants. That planning has left us with a pot of assets to distribute to the same charitable causes that lit our fire while we were active in our communities. We are pleased to say that will include the unrestricted fund and several designated funds at the SDCF!”

If you are interested in creating a legacy for nonprofits you care about, please call SDCF at 800.888.1842 or visit SDCommunityFoundation.org. We will provide you with resources to reach your charitable goals. DONORS | PAGE 13

ESTATE PLANNING SEMINARS

CHRISTEN LARSON HERITAGE CIRCLE:

An effective estate plan will create a legacy for you and your family and provide a plan to support your favorite nonprofits. Estate decisions require knowledge in many areas: accounting, finance, legal, insurance, taxes, investments and charitable planning. The South Dakota Community Foundation, in partnership with our Community Savings Accounts and other charitable organizations, has conducted estate planning seminars across the state over the last several years. From the communities in the Black Hills to those in eastern and northern South Dakota, the seminars included assistance from local professional advisors, covering multiple topics, such as wills, trusts, estate taxes, powers of attorney, and much more. The seminars also provided an opportunity to educate attendees on the benefits of investing in the South Dakota Community Foundation to provide sustainable sources of support in all areas of our state.

If you are a member of an organization or Community Savings Account and would like to have an Estate Planning Seminar in your area, please email the SDCF at info@SDCommunityFoundation.org or call 1-800-888-1842. PAGE 28

HELPING NONPROFITS HELP OTHERS Nonprofits are important to individuals and families in South Dakota. This is why the SDCF offers a variety of grants to support the work of nonprofits across the state. Each grant program has a different focus and application procedure. Nonprofits can visit SDCommunityFoundation.org/Grants to view guidelines and application instructions for each grant program.

Located in the southeastern region of South Dakota, the county of Bon Homme includes the towns of Avon, Tyndall, Tabor, Springfield and Scotland. Bon Homme is derived from the French word “bonhomme” which means “good man.” The “good men and women” living in this area identified a challenge and, as their ancestors often did in the past, met it head on.

Benefits Future Generations

As in many South Dakota rural areas, 4-H is an important organization engaging local youth and helping them reach their full potential. Bon Homme County 4-H had been housed in old grain quonsets that were built in the 1940’s and converted to a 4-H center. The facility was too small to host events, became costly to operate and equipment had deteriorated to the point that replacement was necessary. It became apparent that a new, modern 4-H Center for Bon Homme County was necessary. The county and member communities came together to support this effort. They were excited at the prospect of having a facility that could not only be used by 4-H for its events, but for community celebrations, school district functions and provide an additional handicapped accessible space for county commission meetings. In the future, community gardens may be added. The land that the existing facility stood on was owned by the county commissioners. They were in total support of the project and contributed $150,000 towards its completion. The William R. Hoch Foundation matched this amount. The late William R. Hoch owned the local pharmacy and drug store in Tyndall; before his death, Mr. Hoch stipulated that part of his assets be given to charities that support education and give back to the Tyndall community. Community banks and credit unions provided financial support, as well as local businesses, private donors, the Tyndall Chamber and the 4-H clubs.

“Ready, aim, fire!” The archery range housed in the 4-H Center provides plenty of opportunity for practice.

The new Bon Homme County 4-H Center lights up the night.

Ginger Niemann, senior program officer, SDCF said, “The South Dakota Community Foundation is proud to partner with the Tyndall Development Company as they work to complete the Bon Homme County 4-H Center. Venues like these are vital commodities for rural areas. They provide much needed space for all types of community activities.” The South Dakota Community Foundation provided the Tyndall Development Company with a $15,000 South Dakota Fund grant award to be used towards the purchase of new equipment for the facility. The Tyndall Development Company worked with the 4-H building committee to supply equipment. “The Tyndall Development and Tyndall Community Foundation are always looking at ways to improve our community and were thrilled to be able to help the youth in 4-H,” said Janet Wagner, area resident. The Bon Homme County 4-H program moved into their new facility in December 2019. The communities received “the gift that will keep on giving.” The center includes an assembly area and large and small meeting rooms used for shooting sports, 4-H events and exhibits. It will be enjoyed by generations to come. “It was wonderful to be able to equip the new 4-H Center with appliances, tables and chairs,” said Katie Hauck, Bon Homme County 4-H Secretary. “When all was set up for the Valentines’ dinner it looked fantastic! The 4-H kids are so proud of their new Center.”

2019 COMMUNITY INNOVATION GRANTS 2

BRINGING SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS TO COMMUNITIES Today’s changing community needs and complex challenges require creative thinking and new approaches. That is why the Bush Foundation partnered with the SDCF to support nonprofits that are leading the way in community innovation in South Dakota. The grants help nonprofits address a need in a community by increasing collective understanding of the issue, generating ideas and implementing solutions. These steps, which may be repeated, eventually lead to a breakthrough in addressing a community need that is more effective, equitable or sustainable than existing approaches. In 2019, the SDCF awarded $416,050 in Community Innovation Grants to 44 nonprofit and charitable organizations to carry out inclusive, collaborative and sustainable solutions. The SDCF received 92 applications with requests totaling over $847,000.

CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR NATIVE POST SECONDARY STUDENTS

EDITOR’S NOTE: The Coronavirus pandemic has unexpectedly disrupted our daily lives and plans this year. Nonprofits were no exception. The 7th GEN College Fair was scheduled for April 2020. At the time this article was scheduled to go to print, it had been re-scheduled for October 2020. The safety of participants, employees and the community at large remain paramount.

“We are grateful for the South Dakota Community Foundation’s support of the inaugural 7TH GEN College Fair and Summit, and we hope to make this an annual event,” said John Little (Standing Rock Dakota), Director, The Indian University of North America. “People are very excited about these universities converging here to meet our state’s students. Through this event, we hope to create major positive impacts on the retention and persistence of Native American students in higher education.” Offered in partnership with the Bush Foundation, the Community Innovation Grant program supports efforts to find breakthrough solutions to community challenges across our state. This year, the South Dakota Community Foundation awarded an $8,750 grant to the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation. The Indian University of North America is a part of the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation. The challenge that they are addressing is the need to grow the percentage of Native American students that attend college and bolstering graduation rates once those students are there. “Everyone talks about the need for more support for Native American education,” said Ginger Niemann, senior program officer, SDCF. “It is exciting to see someone implementing a novel approach.” Funds will be used to support a college fair being held for Native American high school students from both Indian and public schools located in South Dakota. The 7TH GEN College Fair and Summit has been scheduled to begin October 4, 2020 at Crazy Horse Memorial, hosted by the on-site Indian University of North America. The event will provide a chance for area Native American high school students to explore colleges and other opportunities. During the event’s first two days, college representatives can expect to hear from fellow recruiters who specialize in the unique needs of Native American students. Students will arrive the third day and mix with the recruiters. The students will also attend breakout sessions that address the college application process, scholarships, financial aid and other topics. A panel of current Native American college students will discuss their experiences and provide advice to prospective students.

University Students

About 60 institutions and student resource organizations are expected to attend, including Emory, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins as well as most of South Dakota’s in-state colleges and universities, tribal colleges and technical institutes. Scholarship providers and area tribal organizations will also be present. Approximately 250 students from reservations throughout the state and public schools in the Black Hills area are expected to participate. The fair’s effect on the students may well be life-changing, as they learn about the possibilities available to them and make connections that will determine their direction in life. South Dakota students have gotten little attention from Ivy League and similar schools, although these schools are interested in enrolling more South Dakotans and more Native Americans. The fair provides a means of connecting these schools with our region’s talented young people. In addition to the fair, the Indian University of North America continues to research innovative ways to provide support for Native American students. These include summer programs that help students transition to college and career life, academic success coaches and peers, as well as development of a specialized online portal. Dr. Laurie Becvar, president and chief operating officer, Crazy Horse Memorial stated, “It is fitting for The Indian University of North America at Crazy Horse Memorial to be a leader in helping colleges and universities better understand how to recruit and serve Native students. Director Little and the University leadership team have done a wonderful job organizing the 7TH GEN College Fair. This experience will surely help empower more Native youth as they become familiar with all of their higher education and scholarship options.”

The SDCF has partnered with 80 communities across South Dakota to form Community Savings Accounts (CSA). A CSA provides current, past and future residents with the opportunity to give back to the town they call home. With SDCF’s careful investment, a community’s CSA will continue to grow and support annual awards and grants in perpetuity ensuring the town continues to thrive for years to come. CSAs are under the control of a local board of directors. The board directs fundraising efforts and distribution of available funds. Under this local control, the money raised in your community, stays in your community.

First Fidelity Bank & Jones County Community Foundation completed their challenge raising $80,000 to receive $20,000 in a matching grant from the Lillibridge Family Fund. Since inception, the SDCF has contributed $1,456,000 in challenge grants to build the endowed assets of local CSAs. Total donations to CSAs reached nearly $2.5 million. CSAs awarded over $1.3 million through 460 grants to nonprofit organizations in their communities. Endowed assets supporting South Dakota communities exceeded $38 million.

To celebrate the second annual SD Day of Giving on Tuesday, December 3rd and encourage our partners to participate, SDCF offered a challenge to our community savings accounts (CSAs). SDCF granted $10,000 to four CSAs partners and one South Dakota nonprofit on the day! SDCF challenged our 80 partner CSAs to register for the SD Day of Giving, raise $500 in new money for their CSA and nominate a local nonprofit for a drawing. Thirty-five CSAs participated this first year. Four drawings were held through Facebook Live. An $8,000 gift was split evenly between four of our CSA partners. WINNERS: • Northeast CSA-Day County Community Foundation • Southeast CSA-Irene Area Foundation • Central CSA-Herreid Community Foundation • Western CSA-First Interstate Bank Lead/Deadwood Fund One drawing was held to benefit a South Dakota nonprofit nominated by a participating CSA. The winner of the $2,000 prize was Forever Families Adoption Alliance nominated by the Faulkton Area Foundation.

Through the #SDCFGives Challenge, one registered nonprofit was awarded a $2,000 grant. The 2019 winner was Forever Families Adoption Alliance nominated by the Faulkton Area Foundation.

520 registered nonprofits participated from 47 counties. Nearly all nonprofits reported the Day helped them raise awareness about their work. Nearly $900,000 was raised for participating nonprofits in the 24-hour period. 28% of the Giving Day’s donors were new donors to the respective nonprofit. All funds with the SDCF raised in total over $100,000 on the Day. COMMUNITIES | PAGE 51

SALEM AREA FOUNDATION RECEIVES $10,000 ANONYMOUS MATCH and Raises Over $22,600 with SD Day of Giving Campaign

The Salem Area Foundation was established in 2007. “We felt we needed a permanent source of funds to help with projects. Our main project when we started was renovations to the baseball field and our pool,” said Glenda. Ron Feterl and the late John Stiefvater, leaders in the community, had a vision for the foundation, and saw wealth passing from one generation to the next. They hoped we could capture wealth before it passed through too many generations, leaving the area and even the state. Ron and John were instrumental in the formation of the Board and making local contacts. Both men were generous with their time and money. Glenda and Janet credit their success on the SD Day of Giving to the very generous matching gift, utilization of Facebook and mailing a one-page flyer for additional publicity.

In November, after attending the SDCF Philanthropy Conference in Aberdeen, two Salem Area Foundation board members, Glenda Blindert and Janet Karel, decided to participate in the SD Day of Giving. “We had found in the past that people are more than willing to give when there was a specific project or goal, but general donations to the Foundation’s permanent fund were difficult to secure,” said Janet. “After a few conversations, we received a $10,000 anonymous match for any gifts given around the day.” Through their dedication, the Salem Area Foundation raised over $22,600 around the SD Day of Giving campaign. Glenda and Janet both have a passion for the Salem community. “Salem is a generous and supportive community and has always stepped up for people in need,” said Janet. “It’s a small town but a great place to raise a family or retire in. Our community has great services and its location gives us access to Sioux Falls and Mitchell, but we get to come home to small town living.”

PAGE 52

“We held an open house with cookies and coffee at our local bank on the day,” said Janet. “We didn’t have an existing flyer or time to have one printed professionally nor did we have a community mailing list. Over the next week the Blindert Insurance staff created the mailing list from our local phone directory, and we developed a letter, printed it, stuffed 600 envelopes and got the mailing out on November 18th. Glenda created the Facebook account and we posted the information there as well. Our local newspaper ran an article for a few weeks, and we had a table at our community Christmas Craft Fair for exposure and to answer questions. “It was heartwarming and I have to say, surprising how many people responded,” Janet said. The Salem Area Foundation board is elated with the response they received. “This was our first year to participate,” said Glenda. “I wasn’t sure what we would get for a response as the ag economy isn’t the best, but we were really grateful for the response. We hope to continue to build our fund so we can continue to support worthy projects. We would like the community to see the CSA as the main vehicle to give funds for the future of Salem.” Since its establishment, the Salem Area Foundation has granted over $36,500 to local nonprofit organizations. If you would like to donate or learn more, please visit their site at SDCommunityFoundation.org/csa/salem-area-foundation/.
