1. Can the Golden Eagle offense finish drives? After moving the ball well on first and second downs, UMC was 4-of-16 on third downs.

2. Can the UMC defense stop the Mustangs on third down. Augustana was 12-of-16 on third down conversions last Saturday. 3. Can the Golden Eagles get a running game going outside of Ben Bucholz? Aside from the quarterback, UMC had just 38 yards rushing from other positions against Augustana. 4. Can Adam Connette follow up his first weekend performance? Freshman receiver Connette had nine catches for 84 yards in his first game.

University of Minnesota Crookston quarterback Ben Bucholz had a strong debut against Augustana last weekend accounting for 203 of 241 total offensive yards for the Golden Eagles. Bucholz was playing his first competitive game in over three years. He will look to improve upon that as he heads into the Southwest Minnesota State game.

Watch out for safeties Trent Galkoski and Tyler Hansen, linebacker Greg Lofquist and defensive lineman Benjamin Taliulu in game two against SMSU. All four had solid games against Augustana with Galkoski being named team Defensive MVP with seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Lofquist led the team with nine tackles, while Hansen had six and a tackle for loss and Taliulu had eight tackles and a tackle for loss

#Makinganimpact UMC freshman wide receiver Adam Connette, a native of Corona, Calif., made a noticeable impact from game one for the Golden Eagles. The newcomer was Ben Bucholz’ favorite target with nine receptions for 84 yards in his collegiate debut. Connette will look to have an encore performance against SMSU Saturday.
