2. Will the UMC defense wear down? The Golden Eagles have allowed 88 points in the fourth quarter this season. 3. Will Bemidji State get productivity from their quarterback position or can UMC take advantage of this weakness? It was a struggle for BSU last season and this year they have used two quarterbacks in Ryan Shields and Jordan Hein. 4. Will Greg Lofquist continue his streak of games with double-digit tackles, which sits at three? 5. Will the running game be a factor for the Golden Eagles against Bemidji State?

UMC and Bemidji State will play in the 11th annual “Hub Cap Game” against the Beavers. The two teams have been playing for the 2004 for the “Hub Cap”, which signifies the only 88 miles between Crookston, Minn. and Bemidji, Minn. on Highway 2. The Golden Eagles won their first-ever “Hub Cap Game” 16-14 last season in Crookston. UMC will look to retain the “Hub Cap” with a victory Saturday. The Golden Eagles are 2-19 all-time against their foes from just down the road. The “Hub Cap” is one of two trophy games for UMC.

Despite changing positions this season, Greg Lofquist hasn’t lost a beat, as the senior currently leads the team with 66 tackles, which places second in the entire NSIC. In addition, Lofquist has 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack and one interception. Lofquist is currently averaging 12.5 tackles per game. Lofquist is coming off games with 19 tackles and 13 tackles.

#TheKicker UMC sophomore kicker Michael Maw his a career-long 43-yard field goal for the Golden Eagles last week against St. Cloud State. Maw has continued to improve in the kicking game this season. He has field goals of 19, 37 and 43 this season. In addition, Maw is averaging 54.2 yards per kickoff with two touchbacks, while he is 6-of-7 on extra points this season.
