Golden Eagle Quick Hits Looking to West Tyler West, Jr. (Jr., F, Portland, Ore./Communications) is averaging 10.3 points and seven rebounds in the last three games for the Golden Eagles. UMC is in need of scoring in the absence of Ashton Harrell (Sr., G, Houston, Texas/Sports and Rec Management), who is out for the rest of the season with an injury. West will be looked to be one of the players to step up in Harrell’s absence. West tallied 13 points and six rebounds last Saturday and had a near double-double of nine points and nine rebounds against Augustana College.

Off The Bench Sam Howell (Jr., G, Seattle, Wash./Sports and Rec Management) has really come into his own in recent games. Howell is averaging six points per game in the last three games. Howell is coming off one of his best games as a Golden Eagle against Augustana, as Howell had seven points off of the bench for UMC. Howell is averaging 4.6 points per game in the last seven games after not scoring a single point in his first seven games in the Maroon and Gold. In addition, Howell is 6-of-13 for 46.2 percent from three-point range during those same seven games after going 0-of-6 from long distance in the first seven games of the season.

Lubke Draining The Three Three-point specialist Tim Lubke (Jr., G, St. Paul, Minn./Sports and Rec Management) is coming off one of his best three-point shooting games of the season last weekend against Augustana. Lubke went 4-of-5 from long distance in the game. Lubke hit three treys against Bemidji State University and St. Cloud State University earlier this season. Lubke is 18-of-51 for 35.3 percent this season.

Assist Man UMC junior point guard Kevin Larson (New Ulm, Minn./Sports and Rec Management) has made an instant impact after transferring from Iowa Lakes Community College. Larson is among the top assist men in the NSIC this season, averaging 4.5 assists this season, which is third in the conference. Larson tallied a season-high seven assists on two occasions this season ,against University of Minnesota Duluth Dec. 6 and against Upper Iowa twoweekends ago. He has an assist/turnover ratio of 2.17, which is currently fourth in the league. Larson is coming off two games with four assists against Augustana and Wayne State last weekend.

Getting Back To His Game After not scoring for three games from Dec. 6 to 13, Derrick Redd (So., G, Menifee, Calif./Sports and Rec Management) has gotten back to his game in the last six games for the Golden Eagles. Redd is averaging 9.3 points per game during that time. If you take out his three scoreless games from Dec. 6 to 13, Redd would be averaging 9.8 points per game instead of 7.7 points per contest.
